During the early days of World War II, when France had fallen and Britain stood in grave danger, military experts recognised a decisive reality – control of the skies would determine the fate of nations. Without sufficient aircraft, even the strongest empire could fall. It was in this tense and uncertain period that Hazrat Musleh-e-Maud (ra) saw a striking and vivid dream that would soon be fulfilled with astonishing precision.

He relates that he saw himself in England, entrusted by the British with the task of defending the nation. Before accepting, he inspected the military headquarters and government offices to assess deficiencies. His conclusion was clear: England lacked only airplanes. If aircraft were provided, the defence could be carried out successfully. Within the dream, a man handed him a telegram stating: “The British Representative from America wires that the American Government has delivered 2,800 aeroplanes to the British Government.” Upon reading it, he declared that the work had been accomplished.

He saw this dream in June 1940 and immediately narrated it to Sir Muhammad Zafrulla Khan Sahib, who mentioned it to British representatives and distinguished Indian officers. In July 1940, while sitting in Masjid Mubarak, an urgent phone call arrived. The very same words were conveyed: a telegram had announced that the American Government had delivered precisely 2,800 airplanes to Britain.

Historical documentation confirms this fulfilment. Newspaper headings in July 1940 reported the statement of the spokesman of the British Purchasing Commission that exactly 2,800 aircraft had been delivered by the United States to Britain. The specificity of the number strengthens the significance of the spiritual insight of Hazrat Mirza Bashir-ud-Din Mahmud Ahmad (ra). It was not a general prediction about war, but a precise and measurable figure revealed in advance.

For a religious leader living far from the European frontlines to see such a specific number in a dream – and for that number to be publicly confirmed within a month – stands as a remarkable sign of Divine insight. In an era defined by material power, this incident invites reflection: true believers continue to rely upon Divine guidance communicated through Allah’s appointed Khalifa, even in times of global trial and uncertainty.
