Students got to attend a virtual author event with @kwamealexander for #NationalPoetryMonth today! We learned the 3 Rs for poetry: Rhyme rhythm & repetition (And that @ToniBlackman can freestyle at will!) One newly self described READER started writing before the lights came up😍

Our #ProjectLitComm book club is starting Black Birds in the Sky by @brandycolbert. We’re about to learn the erased history of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. I underestimated how many more staff and students would join us this month! I’ve been handing them out like candy.
