Definitely interesting. Realism can be controversial that way, but fiction is not just escapism but historical imprints of what our lives are like now
We learn a lot from books like Pride and Prej., which is heavily based off of real life. We want to see ourselves in literature
#WritingCommunity I’ve always had this issue with “slice of life” literary fiction that people want reality in their fiction. Asking fiction to be like reality is like asking a painting of fruit to be actual fruit. Am I right? #unpopularopinion

You could use a pen name for one of the genres if you want to avoid confusion, but as an author, you should always do what you love. I'm sure you can contribute a lot to both genres!

I know switching genres goes against conventional wisdom, but my #WIP is an Urban Fantasy. My last novel was a thriller. I read both genres, so I don't see why I wouldn't have readers out there who do too. What does the #writingcommunity think?
