Overlay Protocol

The Long-Tail Perps DEX | Backed by Polychain, 1kx, ParaFi |

[Overlay Protocol @OverlayProtocol]

We built Overlay to trade anything.
Things no other perps DEX would touch.
The vision was right. The timing wasn't.

Here's what we learned, and where Overlay is going next 👇

[Overlay Protocol @OverlayProtocol]

When a market hits its OI cap, it looks like a failure: why can't I get in. It's the opposite of a failure. It's the venue refusing to accept risk it can't safely carry, the same refusal that keeps every position already in the market exitable.

[Overlay Protocol @OverlayProtocol]

The thesis hasn't changed.

Overlay opened perps to the long tail of crypto — no order book, no market maker, just an oracle feed.

Every token that couldn't get perps at the past, now can.

More soon. 👇

Officially listed on @coingecko as a Perpetual DEX ✅

Overlay is the only perp DEX built specifically for long-tail assets.

Most perp exchanges share the same playbook.

Deep liquidity pools. Established order books. High-cap majors only. If your token doesn't fit — you're out ❌

Overlay is built differently.

Markets are priced through oracle feeds, not order books. No liquidity bootstrapping required. No market maker deals. If a verifiable data feed exists for an asset — it can be listed 📊

That opens the door to long-tail crypto perps traditional venues tend to ignore.

Projects launch their own perp markets in days. Communities pool capital to fund them and earn 30% of trading fees permanently. Traders get leveraged exposure to tokens.

The infrastructure was always the bottleneck. Overlay removes it.

[Overlay Protocol @OverlayProtocol]

The summer heat is relentless, so is Overlay 🔥

We’re heating up perp markets for thin-liquidity tokens. No deep liquidity, no market makers: just token, traders, and leverage.

You can already trade $CHZ, $AERO, $PLUME and more.

Overlay: perps for the tokens everyone else left out in the sun. Up and running ☀️

[Overlay Protocol @OverlayProtocol]

Heads up — markets are temporarily paused while we perform a security key rotation across our infrastructure.

Trading will resume shortly.

[Overlay Protocol @OverlayProtocol]

Why is Overlay the best venue for long-tail tokens?

CEXs mostly list assets with deep liquidity and proven volume. The vast majority of DeFi tokens never get a perps market — no leverage, no price exposure for their communities.

Overlay removes that constraint. Traders trade against the protocol — no market makers, no liquidity bootstrapping problem.

Any token can have a perps market from day one.

Community Pools take it further — anyone can spin up a new market, on-chain, stablecoin-settled, with fees flowing back to stakeholders.
