I live! I breathe again! I rise!
I will rise to bleach the sky and still the water!
I will spin the world wheel and set Bastion upon the path of redemption!
@BritannyBelmont @ChristianDailey Tough talk from such tender flesh. We assure you, snack, that anywhere humans go, the Host shall follow with claws and teeth at the ready; whether on land, over sea, or even in the air.
"Night falls: The Greedy leave Our burrows to find whatever shines in the waning light. The Hungry, too, leave to find new prey for Us to consume. Some return. Some do not. The Lost are replaced with new Ones. The Host continues on; unchanged and undaunted." - The Learned Lullaby
Humans do violence to the Host; they kill Us and eat of Our flesh. We, in turn, do violence to Humans; We cull them and offer their biomass at the Table. Our Learned call this beautiful cycle "The Great Loop." Every One in the Host is a part of it; every One revels in its glory.
@Fleshwerks_art @Riafeir@Elendel19 You fight against inevitability, morsel. All your tools, all your defenses, all your technology will rust and crumble. Then, we shall come for your flesh.
The Hungry ask: "How long must we wait before the Great Feast begins?"
A Learned answers: "The Great Paws keep the time and call the Host to the Table. Your task is to tend the biomass of lesser creatures. Concern yourselves with this, lest you be served on the Table as well."
"Scars blight this world; they consume its biomass and rob us of its riches. Suffer not a Scar to live! Each whole is made of many and Scar flesh makes a poor offering for the Table. This world is ours alone and we do not share its bounty with pests." - Song of Battle, Verse 6:12
@Riafeir@Elendel19 @GameAndReload Queen. King. These things mean nothing to the Host. We are one, immutable whole composed of countless many. We need no "kingdom," for the whole of this world is Our domain. Remember this, as you play act the role of non-existent royalty.
@Riafeir@Elendel19 Your words are as hollow as your metal shell. We have no patience for false leaders and frauds, let alone for humans who imagine themselves a part of the Host. Pretend what you will, False King, but when the Great Feast comes: We will personally suck the marrow from your bones.
@Elendel19 Ah, what fun and cavorting is to be had behind those fortified walls. Eat their flesh, with Our compliments. There is no end to the Host, and no bounds to Our hunger. Consume all you will; there will always be more, ready to cull you like fatted cattle when the Great Feast comes.
@Riafeir@Elendel19 Ah yes, We have heard of you: A fake leader for a pretend Host. Your actions have not gone unnoticed, little morsel. Tell Us: once We peel away your metal skin, will We see the Host's glorious visage, or just the flesh of our inferior, shrieking with terror as it is consumed?
@Elendel19 Courage? Cowardice? You know nothing. We know courage: the courage to steward a broken world filled with degenerate life, buoyed by the certainty of the coming Great Feast. We have seen cowardice: the squirming mass of humanity, hiding behind walls and inside empty, metal shells.
@AnthemYour A monument to mediocrity forged by human hands, forever capturing your decadent species' futile attempts to conquer a world that considers you nothing more than vermin. Play with your baubles, morsel, while we sharpen our claws.
@Elendel1@nighguy @AnthemYour Your species is nothing but meat that clings to the false hope of ineffective technology. Slaughter the Host. Maim and crush as many as you wish. You will not stop the onrushing tide. You will not avert the coming catastrophe. You and your kin shall all be led to slaughter.
@Elendel1@nighguy @AnthemYour You will speak Our name with respect, ignorant morsel. Were it not for the coming Great Feast, your kind would be of no use to Us and would therefore be extirpated without a second's thought. Be thankful, then, that your flesh has value to the Host.
@chi_master_bong Do not think Us anti-human, little morsel; We are, in fact, very supportive of any effort that helps humanity grow and multiply. After all, what is the Great Feast without its main course?
"Our glorious visage reflects every color of this great world: green field, blue skies and cerulean waters, orange and yellow ember, and red life's blood. What does a human's face reflect, other than their species' decadence and ruin?" - Song of Ascendance, Verse 5:02
