Yes, this is correct. Here's the other side of the coin though:

- Most guys are boring and "hanging out" for them is sitting around watching sports or talking about work. They have no passion or interests. The are either neurotics, who are looking for a soapbox to parrot "the current thing" or they are just placid zombies who you fall asleep talking to. Whether their wives raped their spirits or they were always like this is a chicken-egg question

- Many wives want their husbands to have guy friends, but they want these friendships intermediated by THEM, the woman. As in, they want hangouts to consist basically of "couples" or only "let him" have a small number of constrained outings. They do not allow real male bonding (which is invariably outside of a woman's control)

One of the best things about my arrest was I lost all of my raped friends. It is LIBERATING not having this guys in your life. Good male friends are precious, but for these others... it's better to be alone than around them - not only because you cannot trust them, but because it's more lonely calling people who barely exist or understand you "friends."
