Tomorrow is National Naloxone Day, & we want to raise awareness in our community. There is a Naloxone kiosk in the lobby of City Hall, 400 Alexandria Blvd. The day is meant to raise awareness of Naloxone & the role it plays in helping to fight the opioid epidemic in the U.S.
Always have a fire escape plan for everyone in the house. Talk and walk through with all family members, especially the kids and have a meeting spot picked out. Make sure everyone knows the safest way to get out of the house should there be a fire.

Today's storm is a great reminder to practice lightning safety. If you believe your home has been struck by lightning, call 911 immediately. Our firefighters will come check out the house. We have the tools to determine whether there is an unseen fire in the attic or on the roof.

A-Shift was back out doing more extrication training and today they were focused on patient removal techniques. Our firefighters love this training so they can keep their skills sharp!

At 12:43 p.m., Firefighters from Stations 46 & 48, along with the @scfdpio responded to a brush fire off Hazel Grove Road. Upon arrival, FFs quickly extinguish the flames, keeping it contained to a 50 x 50 area. The cause of the fire was lightning on Sunday.
