Marketing is going to start looking more and more like sales.
Marketing is 1:many. Sales is 1:1. The only reason we have marketing at all is b/c 1:1 for everything is too expensive, but as the cost of 1:1 gets cheaper & ads become commodities, you'll need meaning to stand out.
You'd think there should be a way to slow global warming by just reducing the power of the sun light by even a percent.
Is there a viable method of reflecting sunlight back into space?
Avocado math:
The 2 for $3 deal is $1.50 per avocado.
If I buy 5, 2 will definitely go bad before I use them, so that's 3 avocados used per $7.50 spent.
But on those 2 meals I can no longer use an avocado, I need to buy a sauce to make up for the lost flavor (let's say $5).
So it's really $7.50 + $5 = $12.50 for 3 avocados, or well over $4 per avocado.
What a scam
@moneywithkatie@axios I think a large part of this is that we only tend to look “one rung above us” at a time.
And the gap in wealth between the next “rung” only becomes larger and more apparent as we move up
The worst running weather is the 38-45 degree range where it's too cold for shorts and a t-shirt but too hot for long sleeves and tights. And the longer the run, you know you're going to have overdressed
LA became a hotspot for the OG film industry partially because Edison had a mob of enforcers for his patents on movie creation.
If you were on the east coast and in the film industry, your options were:
1) pay up
2) reap the consequences
3) flee West where they couldn’t find you
One of the best parts about being young is the hope that you could do anything some day — everything is a possibility.
Part of aging is that array of options shrinking and the window of “some day” getting smaller.
But maybe closing that range of uncertainty isn’t a bad thing.
