Prof. Dr. Dr. Alexander Görlach, a researcher, author, and columnist working on the impact of AI on democracy, joined us for a fascinating discussion for our last speaker event of Michaelmas Term 2021.

Last Saturday, 6 November, Konrad Kollnig, Lovisa Reiche, Max Marczinek, and Tina Christmann presented their current research projects at our Oxford German Research Symposium. We thank all of them for sharing their impressive work with us, and look forward to future events!
On Monday we had the honour to welcome Winfried Kretschmann, the Minister President of Baden-Württemberg, and his delegation in Oxford. After a talk on the need for but also opportunities of restructuring our economy to fight climate change, Mr. Kretschmann engaged in a Q&A.
We had the honour to welcome Tupoka Ogette, an expert on racism and anti-discrimination, as our first speaker of the academic year. Her determination to seek to combat everyday racism is an inspiration to us all.
Ending the term with a fabulous event with @joergkukies ! The current Secretary of State to the German ministry of finance and previously co-head of Goldman Sachs in Germany offered invaluable insights into the world of politics.
Prof. Dr. Alexander Kurz, Executive Board member at the research organisation Fraunhofer Society, offered us his invaluable insights on the potential for and barriers to #innovation in Germany.
Last week, we had the pleasure to host a talk with Aminata Touré , the vice-president of Schleswig-Holstein's state parliament, and MP since 2017, making her the first Afro-German and youngest vice president of a state parliament.
On the 12th May we were excited to host a panel discussing the rewards and challenges of founding a start-up. We are incredibly thankful to the Oxford alumni Kristina Lunz, Paul Ostwald, and Roman Rothaermel for engaging in such wonderful discussions.
This Tuesday, we had the privilege of hearing from @danielstelter about his perspective on current affairs as well as social and economic policy. The interview certainly raised some critical points and triggered new thoughts!
