@YardleyShooting Germany accepted a much higher rate of tax to rebuild their country after reunification. A 1% extra tax earmarked for defence to rebuild it would be fair. I would rather extra revenue went to there than to masses off due to a 'bad headache'.

@Rosylone @MartinSLewis It's expensive and many don't want a ceremony. My brother and sister both had lavish weddings both got divorced. My younger sister who decided to have a private event in her garden ....lasted the course.

@MartinSLewis Other countries have as low as 6 months of cohabitation giving some security but it also means if you own, hire a place , after 6 months, whoever lives with you regardless of sex, has certain rights as I found out.

@ColinSpenc4257 Well we had a coal fired central heating back then it was in the kitchen. All the waste went in there too. It was eventually swiched to gas. I still in my minds eye see my long passed mother filling it.

@ShelaghFogarty I was brought up in Southend to be precise Leigh-on-Sea. Back then swimming lessons were mandatory for us in Primary school. The Thames Estuary has massive tidal swings so it was a life saver for us local kids. Most of the kids that drowned were'nt local.
