On Zcash, a transaction working isn't enough. It should preserve the privacy users expect.
ShieldSpec aims to help wallet and SDK teams test that claim.
If you're building in Zcash, I'd value feedback—especially on integration.

ShieldSpec makes privacy expectations testable.
It generates repeatable proposals, compares wallet versions, flags different verdicts, shrinks failing cases, and saves evidence another engineer can replay.
ShieldSpec v0.5.0 is released, and its CLI is on https://t.co/fcHwUXChSH.
The repo includes docs, examples, tests, and historical regression evidence.

Most wallet tests ask: “Did the transaction succeed?”
Privacy needs another question: “Did it preserve the sender’s privacy policy?”
A wallet update can change the second answer without breaking the first.
A Zcash transaction can succeed and still expose more information than its sender intended.
That's the problem I've been working on
I built ShieldSpec, an open-source privacy regression testing toolkit for Zcash wallets and SDKs
Here's what it does, and what we actually proved
THE MISSION IS UNCHANGED: PUSH PRIVATE, UNSTOPPABLE MONEY FORWARD_
For ten years, Zcash has been building the privacy technology money was missing.
The foundation is here.
Now build what comes next.

Built to make the Zcash network come through the screen in real time.

Built ZecLens for the Zcash Mini Build Challenge 🔭
ZecLens is a live Zcash mainnet observatory that turns raw RPC data into a clear real-time view of blocks, peers, mempool activity, network health, sync status, supply, and privacy pools.
@zcash@ZecHub
The architecture is deliberately simple:
Browser → Next.js API → Zebra RPC → Zcash Mainnet
RPC credentials stay server-side, and the frontend only receives a normalized network snapshot.
A token sale ends. The wallet trail doesn't.
Alice pays from Wallet A, then claims to Wallet B. How can a sale verify her right to tokens without the claim identifying her contribution?
That's the model @venuodotfun is designing. Let's unpack it.
@Web3LagosCon Next few years are going to be interesting. Power and money are drifting back to institutions, while we're left holding a technology full of potential that never got to fully play out.
