Growing up, my aunt made almost all of our clothes. Store-bought clothes? Why would we need those when there was perfectly ugly fabric waiting to become a dress? 😂
My mom had a special talent for finding the ugliest material in the store—at least in my opinion—and then having my aunt make my sister and me identical dresses.
My sister loved dresses. I hated them.
But the real injustice? I was the youngest girl.
After wearing my own ugly matching dress until I outgrew it, I inherited my sister’s. That meant she wore the ugly material once, while I served two full terms in it. 🙄
Some children inherited money. I inherited the same ugly dress in the next size up.
Did you grow up wearing hand-me-downs?
There was this girl who claimed she died and went to hell, where she saw Michael Jackson being tormented in hellfire. She said his torment became even worse whenever people played his music.
After that she went to heaven, where God told her to return to Earth and warn us to repent.
How to teach your child that when you say NO, you mean NO.
Before I share this tutorial, I must let you know that I am the mother of 4 children ages 10 to 16; two of whom are already taller than I ever hope to be.
None of them has ever harboured the thought of bullying me
Blood cancer kills more people than breast cancer. Over 700k a year.
Yet most people I see dismissed the early signs for months because they looked like nothing.
6 warning signs your body sends before leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma is diagnosed:
1. BRUISES YOU CAN'T EXPLAIN.
In January 2023, 32-year-old nurse Lindsay Clancy asked her husband, Patrick, to drive out and pick up medicine for their daughter.
He was gone for less than an hour.
When Patrick returned, he found Lindsay badly injured outside their home after she had jumped from a second-story window. She told him that their three children were in the basement.
There, he found 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan unconscious. Lindsay had strangled all three of them with exercise bands.
Cora and Dawson died that night. Callan died in the hospital several days later.
Lindsay survived the fall but was left paralyzed.
In the months before the killings, she had repeatedly asked for help. She was struggling with severe anxiety, insomnia, and suicidal thoughts.
She even admitted herself to a psychiatric hospital. She was discharged 19 days before she killed her children.
Prosecutors say Lindsay planned the killings and sent her husband away to be alone with the kids.
Her defense says she was suffering from bipolar disorder and postpartum psychosis and heard a male voice ordering her to kill them and then herself.
When her trial finally began this summer, many women rallied behind her. A new fundraiser, set up for her parents, has collected nearly $1 million from more than 25,000 donors, with many supporters convinced that Lindsay is a victim too.
There is growing concern about the high burden of cancer in Nigeria.
Available data from WHO and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) show that Nigeria recorded an estimated 127,763 new cancer cases and 79,542 cancer deaths in 2022 alone.
What concerns me is that I cannot confidently point to one particular reason for this burden or its apparent rise.
Cancer is complex. Medical science understands many of its risk factors and mechanisms, but in many individual cases, it is still impossible to determine exactly why a person develops cancer.
So, while “be careful” is good advice, I believe Nigeria needs much stronger cancer surveillance, research and serious investigation into the environmental, occupational, lifestyle and other factors that may be contributing to this growing burden.
This is a public health issue we cannot afford to ignore.
Let me appreciate Nigerian women for a minute. ❤️🇳🇬
Living abroad hits differently.
You start noticing things and suddenly value home more.
I keep seeing comments like:
“White ladies don’t like money.”
“They only want coffee dates.”
“Nigerian women are greedy and only want your money.”
Who sold y’all these lies? 😂
I’ve seen women here in Canada 🇨🇦 smoke, vape, and use weed openly, including a colleague who returned from maternity leave and was still smoking while breastfeeding.
That moment reminded me:
The devil you know is better than the angel you imagine.
Our women have flaws, no doubt. But stop overhyping foreign women while acting like Nigerian women have nothing to offer.
Every society has its own problems. Appreciate what you have without insulting what you don’t fully know.
Nigerian women, una try. ❤️🇳🇬
They told you to remove the oil. But the oil was the delivery van.
Vitamins A, D, E and K need fat to be absorbed properly. They cannot travel through your body on their own.
So, if you boil ugu in plain water, you may eat all the fibre but absorb less of those fat-soluble vitamins.
Here’s what to do:
Add 1 full tablespoon of red palm oil or coconut oil to the pot while the food is still cooking. Don’t just pour it over the food at the table. The oil needs to be part of the meal.
If you don’t want to use oil, eat ½ an avocado, 2 boiled eggs, or a real piece of fish with that same meal. Not two hours later.
This applies to ugu, ewedu, soko, bitterleaf, garden egg leaf, cabbage, carrot and other vegetables.
Red palm oil is one of the cheapest ways to do this in Nigeria, and it also provides vitamin A of its own.
Put the oil in the pot tonight.
Driving home, 2011. Checkpoint. Drunk policeman.
3 gun shots, one bullet punched through my car boot into my right hand.
That hand once edit, animated, paid bills and fed my family. Overnight it became dead weight.
Career gone. Marriage cracked. Mind still bleeding daily.I sued the Nigeria Police.
2015: Federal High Court ordered them to fund reconstructive surgery to restore my life.
Eleven years later: zero naira, zero apology, zero accountability.
I still can’t fully use the hand they destroyed. Still begging strangers so I don’t lose it forever.
The Nigeria Police that shot me ignores the court. Who protects the rest of us?

Death is a BASTARD 💔
A 14-year-old girl just died in my compound as a result of electrocution.
AEDC disconnected them after they were caught doing a bypass, and ever since then, they've been illegally tapping current from an exposed wire.
I was told that NEPA people were knocking on the gate this afternoon, so she rushed out from the kitchen to remove the wire.
Perhaps she mistakenly touched the naked wire with her wet hands, and was struck immediately 🙆♀️🙆♀️🙆♀️
Just like that.
She's gone because of a situation that could have been avoided.
This is definitely one of those days I don't like going home.
Reported demands made by the terrorists who kidnapped children and teachers in Oyo state:
1. ₦1 billion to be paid into an account in the Benin Republic.
2. Release of terrorists currently held in Agodi and Abolongo Prisons.
3. Two Hilux vehicles.
4. Amendment of Oyo State laws to enforce and introduce sharia law.
For those of you who continue to make excuses for terrorists, who refer to terrorists as your brothers and who applaud this lunatic government when they release these barbaric murderers back into society, please be aware that you will eventually be ruined by this same satanic ideology you endorse.

The stage where everyone expects you to be strong is the hardest, you end up bottling your emotions and become withdrawn. When it runs through the mind it results to emotional outburst. The period after my brother's burial was the hardest.
nobody talks about the stage of grief where you can't even talk about it to anyone anymore, because everyone expects you to be strong and get over it, but it still runs through your mind everyday.
it is an unwritten rule of life that after every prolonged period of hardship and uncertainty, there is going to be a period when you are going to achieve quantum leaps across multiple areas of your life. the only requirement is that you do not give up on yourself
