To go back to the Azteca after 40 years and the Hand of God which I remember watching the whole match and to win, well, it was worth waiting. One of the top performances from England in World Cup finals history
Fortunately the kick off times here on in are favourable for the European audiences. Miami on Saturday, gonna be hot. But the game against Norway will have a Premier League feel to it. Sub plots everywhere
Sensational performance from England. What a result! In their own backyard too. Everyone stepped up. All three key refereeing decisions were right including Kane giving away the penalty. Just shows you have to ultra careful in the penalty box. Tuchel nailed it with the subs
Wow! That was a worry. Concede early, on the back foot. Some thinking to do for Tuchel before Mexico at the Azteca. Mexico will be worried about Kane. Job done though
That’s not a penalty IMO for England. Minimal touch if any. Some glimpses for England, some great chances, DRC keeper is having a blinder. You could argue DRC should be two up
Valiant effort from Japan. Pushed Brazil all the way. Mistake from the
Japanese defender which gave the ball away and they pounced. Wanted Japan to go through and the Brazil fans to go home crying. You ride your luck to win tournaments #worldcup
Just listened Lewis Moody former rugby World Cup winner on @talkSPORT, what an inspiration. Loved listening to him and battle he’s facing MND. He’s doing a charity bike ride to Twickenham delivering the match ball for the Premiership final next Saturday. Good luck
What a result for Qatar. First World Cup point. Totally against the run of play. Switzerland dominated the match. So many shots on goal. Great header. All square in the group
We were so lucky to live through the greatest generation of men’s tennis. Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and you can add Murray in there as well. The memories and the classic matches
Just finished watching RAFA on Netflix. Very deep documentary which I enjoyed watching. It was a retrospective but also reflecting the current time in sync. What a player and a person. It was an emotional watch but he just fought to the bitter end. What a career. Highly recommend
Commiserations Arsenal, cruel way to lose a match. It’s like 2006 revisited, take an early lead and lose out. Defensively they performed exceptionally but PSG just a quality side. It’s a hard competition to win. United have lost out twice to Barcelona
@FootballInT80s I was living in Manchester at the time watching the match with my friends at home. Their faces was a picture when both late goals scored. Suffice to say they weren’t supporting United! Quite an unbelievable evening. Stunned. But that was ethos of the club, never give in, believe.
