AC/DC Album Ranking from Worst to Best
#13: Fly On The Wall (1985)
I KNOW there are a lot of fans of this album out there. Unfortunately…I’m not one of them😂 My biggest issue with this album (as I’m sure a lot of yours is too) is the production. WHAT THE FUCK did they do to Brian Johnson’s vocals?! They are SO compressed and SO far back in the mix that I can’t understand what THE FUCK he’s saying half the time!😂 Also it’s seems like the guitar tone is off on this thing. They sound WAY different than previous albums and I’m not sure how fans felt about that when they first heard it back in ‘85😂 But to me…it just doesn’t sound like AC/DC 🤷🏼♂️
I’m sorry but I’m just not a big fan of the first two tracks on this album. I think the title track is a weak opener. And ‘Shake Your Foundation’ is one of SEVERAL stupid, corny songs on this album😂 the first TRULY good songs are the next two. ‘First Blood’ and ‘Danger’ are the BEST songs on the album! ‘Sink The Pink’ is another ridiculous song. Never liked it. A couple other deep tracks I like are ‘Hell or High Water’ and ‘Back In Business’.
I’ve never been able to get into this album. I know this one will have a lot of fans based on when it came out. But for me, it’s definitely the worst of the 80s era albums. I just think this album sounds too processed for a band like AC/DC that THRIVE on being raw and uncompromising!
