Having a trans woman who once attended the same catholic school as tanrak become the catalyst for his growth was such a beautiful choice. Suddenly tanrak realizes he isn’t the first person to wrestle with these questions 🥺

the way it showed every version of that hug… i’m emotional. this scene hit so hard, it felt like healing & goodbye at the same time.

just rewatched ep 5 and the parallel between barth and tanrak both witnessing another reality unfold before their eyes.... an image of a path that society expects they "should" take, rather than choose each other

i just find it so endearing how despite barth's lack of interest in everything religious, he has shown the most reverence towards the statue of mary :') how much barth's mom sacrificed, bloodied her own hands to save her son. barth already knew his house was broken but how much of the damage he takes upon and blames himself for? goddd. #TicketToHeavenEP5

P'Aof shared something heartbreaking about this scene.
PAof : "When writing it, I thought the audience would be focused on whether Father would catch them or not..But when we got to the filming day, I realized something more important was Tanrak's feelings."
"So I told Fourth, 'At that moment, Tanrak probably isn't afraid anymore. Every piece of evidence is gone. There's nothing left for anyone to find.'"
"But at the same time, what disappeared along with it were all the memories of this relationship."
"Honestly... that's devastating."
"If you look at it from another angle, what Tanrak truly needed in that moment wasn't to be questioned or judged, he simply needed someone to hold him." 🥺
"I remember that as soon as I finished explaining it, I saw something change in Fourth's eyes."
"So I turned to the crew and said, 'Okay... let's roll.'"
"The performance everyone saw in that scene came from Fourth's interpretation of that conversation."
P'Aof also laughed as he recalled:
"It was the same day Fourth said after filming, 'If this keeps going, Tanrak is definitely going to end up depressed.'"
"From that day onward... no one on set had any peace anymore."

the cruelest part is that those memories were the first time he'd ever experienced a happiness that was truly his, yet he still chose to burn them because he believed disappointing God was a greater sin than breaking his own heart.
