What a quick week! We have been learning the sounds ‘h’ like horse and ‘r’ like robot. We have been learning about the numbers 1 more than and 2 more than using our new knowledge of numbers to 10 and we have been exploring a number line when doing so. 🤩

P1T are definitely getting into the Christmas spirit. We have really enjoyed putting up our own decorations and seeing the foyer decorated. We enjoy visiting the foyer fireplace for a Christmas story at 2:30pm each day! Here, we discuss the Kindness Advent Calendar too 🎄🎅🏼

In Numeracy we have been practising writing numerals to 10, ordering numbers to 10, recognising ten frames and numicon amounts and working out which number is bigger or smaller.

This week we have been busy learning the sounds ‘e’ and ‘l’. “It’s like egg and elf!” “Mmmm, I like lollies.” “LEAFS AND LACES, we forgot them!”

Yesterday we learned about Remembrance Day (“Poppy Day”) and what the poppy means. We made our own Poppies and displayed them on the window for everyone to see. We hope you like them.

It’s been a fun last week of term in P1T! We have been learning the sound p like pirate and postbox. We have also been using our new knowledge of writing numerals to solve simple sums. Following on the children’s interests we have been learning about penguins, parrots & magpies!

We finished off the term by having a socially distanced meeting with our buddies. We took chalk and drew a bubble to stay inside. “This is really awesome isn’t it?” “The line between our circles is our bond.”

This week we learned the sound ‘n’ like nest, noodle and Netflix. We want to learn about birds after talking about nests. For #mathsweekscotland we learned how to write numerals 0-5. In H&WB we looked at the blue cog and discussed different regulation strategies we can use!

This week we have been learning ‘i’ like igloo, ice cream, instrument and immunisation. We have been learning to add within 5 using numicon, our fingers and our own number lines. We can talk about primary colours and colour mixing & today we met our buddies from a distance 😊

Another week completed ✅ we have been learning the sound ‘t’ as in tower, turtle, turnip. We have also been learning to add two amounts together to total 5. We learned some new emotion words like heartbroken, knackered and lonely by reading stories together.

What a busy third week in P1! We learned how to order numerals, numicon and five frames within 5. We also learned the sound ‘s’ like “sausage”, “super” and “sit down”. We started looking at emotive language and we began speaking about what makes us feel happy and sad!
