P4ADNow is a bipartisan patient advocacy organization fighting for lower drug prices. We mobilize patients in support of legislation to fix our broken system.
P4ADNOW’s Executive Director, @GlobalDiaBEATes, breaks down how Big Pharma games the patent system to keep prices and profits high, and how we are working to stop patent abuse to ensure more competition in the drug market and lower drug costs. Be part of this fight because together we can win. https://t.co/tAdSJoU7wP
It's time we rein in Big Pharma's abuse of the patent system.
That’s why my colleagues should join my bill with @SenAmyKlobuchar and @SenHawleyPress so we can get more affordable generics on the market and save patients money at the pharmacy counter.
Congress is hearing from Big Pharma lobbyists right now. The question is whether they’ll also hear from you...
Recently, patient advocates from across the country flew to D.C. to sit across from lawmakers and deliver a clear message: pass the ETHIC Act.
One of them was Maureen, who traveled from Florida. She’d never done anything like this before. She walked into those meetings not knowing what to expect — just knowing she had to try. "These people work for us," she said after. "If we don't try, we might as well throw in the towel."
Now it's our job to back her up.

💯 Big Pharma's abuse of the patent system doesn't just affect patients, it's causing harm to families and communities and must be stopped.
The ETHIC Act would reduce drug company patent abuse by addressing double patenting but Big Pharma's lobbyists are hard at work against it.

NEW VIDEO: We just released a new video explaining one of the most important — and least talked about — drivers of high drug prices: patent abuse. The ETHIC Act would close the loopholes drug companies exploit to block cheaper generics. Watch, share, and urge Congress to act: https://t.co/CRR9ojek4E

Patients like Kris Garcia know that drug pricing reforms like the ETHIC Act are more than policy; they’re about real people finally getting relief from predatory drug pricing practices.
Thank you to @EpochTimes for uplifting patient voices and the urgent need for Congress to pass the ETHIC Act.

Polling from @KFF reveals about 43% of adults in the US have skipped, rationed, or gone without a prescription drug due to cost in the past year. At Patients For Affordable Drugs, we believe that no one should have to make the impossible choice between the medications they need to live and other bills. When Big Pharma games the patent system, patients pay the price but there are bipartisan bills in Congress that are smart, practical steps to lower prescription drug prices.
By strengthening coordination between the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), we could ensure fewer opportunities for patent manipulation, more transparency in how patents are granted and enforced, and faster access to affordable medications for patients.
Americans shouldn’t have to pay more because of bureaucratic silos. Let's ensure the system works for people, not just pharmaceutical companies.
Patents could keep an Ozempic generic off the U.S. market until at least 2031, reintroduced legislation would forbid large health care companies that own PBMs from directly owning pharmacies, and tariffs are reshaping how companies operate, but not addressing the root causes of high drug prices. Brand-name drug companies are manipulating the patent system to keep generics off the market. This ensures drug prices stay high while patients struggle to afford them. Learn more about patent thickets and other Big Pharma schemes at https://t.co/hIEVRvecMQ
P4AD patient advocate Jackie relies on the 2022 prescription drug law's $2,000 cap on out of pocket costs to afford the medication she needs to survive. To learn more about the 2022 prescription drug law and how it's helping patients save money at the pharmacy, visit https://t.co/IqGN4WE2mm
According to a recent @KFF poll, 30% of Hispanic adults and 24% of Black adults in the US say they are very worried about being able to afford prescription medications for themselves or their families.
For many families from these marginalized communities, concerns about the cost of medication go far beyond a single pharmacy trip and can lead to rationing and delaying medications or choosing not to fill a prescription at all.
While recent reforms have helped lower out-of-pocket costs for patients on Medicare in particular, there are still too many families who are struggling to afford the medications they need. There are bipartisan bills in Congress that would lower drug prices for patients, learn more at: https://t.co/mmecgTfbPT
