Fun history on this. The Williams FJ-44 that powers most of the Citation Jets as well as the Pilatus PC-24 (aircraft I currently fly) came from the F107 that was used on cruise missiles.
So I guess you could say aircraft are basically large missiles you can reuse after they land.
Was disturbed to learn that missiles are basically miniature aircraft and highly perishable.
They got shelf lives thanks to solid rocket motors and other subsystems degrading, and wear and tear from flight forces
@HVNYrefugee Originally I thought Arizona right. But after looking at the left I realized I fly right over this, I guess it’s the salt river, landing 25L into PHX
More of this in years to come. New “super-mids” like this and the G280 will allow operators to utilize smaller/closer airports.
For this reason I will NEVER understand how Cessna stopped making the Sovereign. Runway performance like a CJ3, cabin better than the XLS, and range to go to Hawaii.
Unreal @Grok just nailed a 10min lesson for me
I’ve been asking it “based on my feed teach me something for 10 minutes”
My favorite one yet about 121.5 and why the “meowing” pilots went viral

@wongywongy@rawsalerts@hackerfantastic Anyone can broadcast on 121.5. Most of us fly around with it on COM2 (ATC calls you on this frequency if you missed a radio switch). I bet I hear a “meow” twice a day.
This post clearly blew up for the wrong reasons.
Most of comments are to the tune of “oh you went to beach once so we can’t go to space?! Boo hoo”
And it’s right but…
Isn’t it more fun to actually try to help people understand?
Had the insane experience of watching the Air Force One do touch and goes today.
Front nose wheel never touches the ground.
These guys are taking a 747 and doing a wheelie down the runway for a few thousand feet.
