My brother, I respect you paaa, that’s why I’m replying calmly.

But please, let’s be honest. The previous government (NPP) is not in power. John Mahama and the NDC have been in government since January 2025. It is this current government that suspended the KATH CEO.

The doctors are withdrawing services because of the overcrowding crisis at KATH, not because of politics. The CEO was highlighting a real problem affecting patients and doctors every day. Suspending him doesn’t solve the overcrowding.

We all know completed hospitals like the Sewua Regional and Afari Military Hospitals were left idle with one excuse or another. Those facilities were built with our taxes. Why can’t we open them quickly to ease the pressure on KATH instead of more suspensions and excuses?

I’m not politicizing anything. Ghanaians are suffering in our hospitals. Let’s focus on solutions: open the idle facilities, fix the system, and stop punishing people who speak the truth about the problems.

Enough is enough!

While you politicise everything in Ghana, innocent Ghanaians, especially the poor, are suffering and dying at the gates of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Your Minister suspended the CEO, Dr. Paa Kwesi Baidoo, for two weeks simply because he highlighted deadly overcrowding and temporarily paused new emergency admissions to protect lives. Patients lie on floors, A&E is far beyond capacity, and your response? Punishment instead of solutions.

Instead of operationalising the major completed hospitals in Kumasi like the Sewua Regional Hospital and Afari Military Hospital to ease this crisis, you suspended the CEO. These facilities were built years ago with taxpayers’ money. They sit largely ready but idle due to delays in electricity, water, roads, staffing, and political excuses. Why punish doctors for exposing the problem when you could ease the burden on KATH by opening these hospitals immediately?

This is not governance. This is cruelty wrapped in politics.
You campaigned on “hope” and “better Ghana,” yet your first response to a real crisis is suspension and blame. The same overcrowding, underfunding, and infrastructure failures you criticised in opposition are now worse under your watch. Doctor emigration continues, projects drag on, and emergency care collapses.

Who will treat my father and thousands of poor people who have no passport, no dollars, and no plane ticket to fly abroad for treatment? You? Your bodyguards? Your party executives who jet off overseas at the slightest issue?

Mothers in labour, accident victims, children with malaria, they don’t have connections. They only have public facilities you are destabilising with political interference.

Reinstate the CEO immediately.
Operationalise Sewua, Afari, and other ready facilities today.
Activate emergency measures: divert cases, open extra wards, deploy support teams, and fix basic issues like water and power instead of playing power games.

Ghana is watching. The blood of any patient who suffers or dies from this avoidable crisis is on your hands. Stop the politics. Start governing. Or the same ordinary Ghanaians you claim to fight for will remember this pain come next election.
