Founded1963, the Pediatric Anesthesia Foundation hosts the oldest annual #PedsAnes conference in the US #Anesthesia#Pediatric (curated by Patrick Ross)
If you have academic money to spend before the end of July and want to come to a great meeting at Disneyland, registration is open at https://t.co/ls0HgxMFyr We have also updated our website URL to https://t.co/Kov1MAXmWR
Thanks for everyone who was following along with our 60th Clinical Conference in Pediatric Anesthesiology. Thanks to all of our speakers! It was just fabulous to see people in person again. We look forward to #PAF61 next year at the Disneyland Hotel Feb 3 - 5, 2023!
At #PAF60 Dr. Sam Nour discusses fresh gas decoupling in modern anesthesia machines. Induction and emergence are much slower. My comment: I don't know that we love them but they are likely here to stay.
@PAFConference @J_LauMD I can’t wait. This is always a highlight of my continuing education. Kudos to PAF for always putting on such a great meeting. These meetings only can continue with support from people registering for great educational meetings. Thank you @DrPatrickRoss and @RebeccaMargolis
An LIVE audience, looking at people's reactions. NO SUBSTITUTE. That felt great and filled my cup. We are wired for connection...not the Zoom one. #PAF60@PAFConference
It is amazing that with no prior coordination, both @RebeccaMargolis and @J_LauMD give back to back talks which highlight that a lack of support is one of the largest drivers of burnout in medicine. #PAF60#pedanes#medtwitter#PedsICU
Thanks to @RebeccaMargolis for a great talk but also for creating The Pebble Project at CHLA. This has benefitted so many of us directly. These direct improvements may seem small but they have incredible benefits. People feel appreciated and valued.
@RebeccaMargolis talking about Burnout. My takeaway from this fabulous talk was not to focus on the individual and their resilience but to think about institutional changes that support us and improve job satisfaction. #pedanes#PAF60
Great talk by @gracehsumd on Quality Improvement to improve social determinants of health. To paraphrase: QI efforts need to be Equity-Focused because if we don't address inequity we will widen the gaps in care between populations.
Thanks Dr. Telianne Chon for talking to us about the updates on PALs with the newest guideline. One significant change is an increased respiratory rate that was driven by research from led by Dr. Sutton from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
Presenting @josephcravero this award is our Chair at CHLA @bmarkovitz_chla We want to thank Dr. Markovitz for the ongoing support of this meeting. Such a great location to learn. #pedanes#paf60
Congratulations to our 20th Digby Leigh Speaker: @JosephCravero at the 60th Clinical Conference in Pediatric Anesthesiology. Dr. Leigh was felt to the be the Father of Pediatric Anesthesia in Canada. Info here https://t.co/rhh8ZR0PMU
Learning from the ultimate in #WomenWhoLead- 1st board-certified #PedsAnes (but not the last!) & 3rd woman to lead @ASALifeline in 105 years- Dr. Linda Mason. #PAF60
Wonderful talk by @WesTempletonMD at #paf60. There are a big 5 criteria for extubation and they tend to appear in a consistent order. Further elevated CO2, URI, and use of midaz increases the risk for post extubation problems. #pedanes
