Imagine a world where #pancreaticcancer is detected early, where patients are guided to the best care from the moment of diagnosis, and where discoveries move from the lab to saving lives in years, not decades. That is the future PanCAN is building β by bringing together patients, families, researchers and clinicians to transform the future of this disease. π
Today at #PanCANPurpleStride, we launch our most ambitious effort yet, the $250 million All Together We Can campaign. Our vision: to make survival the expectation, not the exception, for the tens of thousands of people diagnosed with this disease every year.
Why now? Because this disease remains the deadliest major cancer and the only one with a five-year survival rate below 20%. Because patients and their loved ones deserve more time, more treatment options and more effective screening strategies. Because our community knows that when weβre united in purpose and vision, we can achieve anything β and weβre ready to take on this next chapter.

When Roberta L. was diagnosed with #pancreaticcancer in 2002, she was given months to live. Twenty-four years later, she's sharing her remarkable story of resilience. π
In this episode of PancChat, Roberta joins host @AlisynCamerota to discuss her stage III diagnosis, the role of clinical trials, the lifestyle changes she embraced and how she navigates survivor's guilt. She also shares why she's never made a bucket list β and why she skydives every April instead.

Today, we remember Michael Landon on the anniversary of his passing from #pancreaticcancer. π
A beloved actor, writer, director and producer, Michael captured the hearts of millions through iconic roles in Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie and Highway to Heaven. In 1991, he became one of the first public figures to speak openly about his pancreatic cancer diagnosis, helping bring national attention to the disease.
Reflecting on her father's impact, Shawna Landon shared, βI keep my fatherβs memory alive by living each day to the best of my ability and trying to be of service to others. I instill some of his strong beliefs in my children β to work hard, be a good human being and live each day to the fullest. Never take what you have for granted and whatever you want to do, do it now. There are only so many tomorrows. I miss my dad every day and strive to be the best version of myself to pass on his legacy to my family.β
In 2026, an estimated 67,530 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and 52,740 are expected to die from the disease. Our vision: to make survival the expectation, not the exception, for people diagnosed with this disease every year. Learn more at π https://t.co/bAwnfKIRoc.

In this month's Research Spotlight, Dr. @ABerkenblit shares, "I will always remember the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (@ASCO) Annual Meeting as the moment the tide turned in the treatment of pancreatic cancer. I had the honor of attending this conference in late May through early June, and my PanCAN colleagues and I rose to our feet for a standing ovation alongside an estimated 18,000 oncology healthcare professionals, advocates and other attendees to applaud the stunning overall survival data from the RASolute-302 phase 3 clinical trial.
The RASolute-302 trial tested @RevMedicinesβ #daraxonrasib, a once-daily pill that blocks RAS, compared to standard intravenous chemotherapy in patients with previously treated metastatic pancreatic cancer.
An important topic discussed at the ASCO meeting was management of the side effects that result from daraxonrasib. Many people have seen media coverage of the facial rash experienced by former Senator Ben Sasse while receiving daraxonrasib in a clinical trial for pancreatic cancer. For most people, the rash with daraxonrasib is not severe, especially with proactive measures to prevent and manage the rash including sun protection, antibiotics and steroid creams. Similarly, there was discussion around stomatitis, or mouth sores, which was the second most common side effect experienced by patients treated with daraxonrasib. Oral hygiene, mouthwashes and dietary changes can be implemented to help mitigate this side effect.
While the results from the RASolute-302 clinical trial are unprecedented for the treatment of pancreatic cancer, we know that this is not enough."

Join PanCAN for our virtual event, KRAS and Pancreatic Cancer: Entering a New Era of Treatment, where we'll discuss the current moment in KRAS research and what the newest discoveries may mean for patients now and in the future. π§¬

Pancreatic cancer remains one of the most difficult cancers to treat, with limited therapeutic advances and a five-year survival rate of approximately 3% for metastatic disease. More than 90% of pancreatic tumors harbor KRAS mutations with KRAS-driven signaling and FAK-mediated resistance pathways a central driver of disease progression.
Today, we announced positive updated results from the RAMP 205 Phase 1b/2a Recommended Phase 2 Dose cohort of 29 patients evaluating avutometinib plus defactinib in combination with gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel in first-line metastatic pancreatic cancer. These findings provide encouraging evidence that combined RAF/MEK and FAK inhibition alongside standard-of-care chemotherapy may help address key mechanisms of resistance in pancreatic cancer.
We are especially grateful to the patients, families, and investigators who made this research possible, and to the @PanCAN who selected Verastem Oncology in 2022 to receive the inaugural PanCAN Therapeutic Accelerator Award, which helped support the evaluation of this novel treatment approach and fostered important collaboration between Verastem and the pancreatic cancer research community.

Big news in pancreatic cancer! The Rogel and Blondy Center for Pancreatic Cancer at University of Michigan is proud to announce we have obtained access to daraxonrasib through the expanded access program.
Randi E. was diagnosed with a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (PNET) in her 30s. Although she underwent a total pancreatectomy, she continues treatment to help keep the tumor under control. In the years since her diagnosis, Randi has become insulin-dependent, lost her mother to #pancreaticcancer and built a meaningful life as a health equity advocate and dedicated #PanCANvolunteer with PanCANβs Survivor Council and Health Equity Committee.
In this episode of PancChat, host @AlisynCamerota sits down with Randi to discuss what survivorship can look like more than a decade after diagnosis. Randi shares the realities of ongoing care, including monthly injections, annual scans, diabetes management and the emotional complexities of navigating life as both a patient and caregiver. Together, they explore the importance of sharing a diagnosis with a broader support network, the role health equity plays in access to care and treatment and why reaching the five-year mark is often not the end of the journey.
