Today, the brigade is authorized over 3,400 Soldiers and is comprised of six battalion-sized elements, including two infantry battalions, a cavalry squadron and a field artillery battalion.
#KnowYourMil: The 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team is one of four brigades in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard’s 28th Infantry Division. It is headquartered in Washington, Pa., and has units throughout Pennsylvania as well as Maryland and Ohio.
The brigade traces its lineage to a company called the Washington Guards that was established in July 1872. One of the brigade's units, A Troop, 1st Squadron, 104th Cavalry Regiment, traces its lineage to November 1774 when First Troop Philadelphia City Cavalry was formed.
The @PANationalGuard hosted an @ESGR Boss Lift May 6 & 7 at Fort Indiantown Gap and at the 193rd Special Operations Wing. Boss Lifts allow employers of National Guard members to get a first-hand look at readiness and training.
