It is with a heavy heart that I offer my sincere condolences to those who have suffered the loss of loved ones in the wake of the devastating #earthquake in #Türkiye and #Syrian. I pray for the swift recovery of those who have been injured and are in the process of being rescued.
We the Afghan people who have suffered senselessly from international and regional discord and division are ready and willing to contribute to such a constructive endeavor.
I strongly condemn the terrorist attack in Peshawar and express my deepest sympathies with the families of the martyrs and pray for the speedy recovery of the victims. The Afghan people understand and share the grief as does every Muslim and every human being in the world.
Short term tactical measures will have to give way to long term outlook and strategic patience and coordination amongst government and people to see it through.
Today, I visited Ghanikhel, Nangarhar province to meet with the brave people of Achin, Nazian, Ghanikhel and Mohmandara districts. I thanked them for standing tall alongside the ANDSF against terrorism and for driving out and defeating elements of the ISIS-K from their areas.
The Afghan government has serious concerns about the violence perpetrated against peaceful protestors and civil activists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
We believe it is the moral responsibility of every government to support civil activities that take a stand against the terrorism and extremism that plagues and threatens our region and collective security. Otherwise there could be long-standing negative consequences.
