If, or should I say when, the current status quo changes in Uganda, we’ll have to live with its proponents.
Besides the very few members of the ruling elite who can flee the country, the vast majority of its supporters have nowhere else to go. Uganda is our only home. They, and their families, will be here.
It therefore behooves the supporters of the current establishment to take a long-term view, and to educate themselves, that patriotism is not a forced love of the country, but our ability to accommodate each other in our diversity - knowing that power is transient, a revolving door - and that our collective security lies in our abilities to accommodate each other.
Today’s Muhoozi’s are tomorrow’s Malyamungus (Amin’s dreaded henchman), today’s Birungis (now Otto -the (in)famous CMI) are tomorrow’s Rwakasis or Buturus (Obote’s vicious enforcers).
As Martin Luther King Jr. said, we must learn to live together as brothers (and sisters) or perish as fools.
Let me respond to all the inquiries I’ve been receiving here at once: no, unfortunately I haven’t heard a single word about the whereabouts of @NinyeTabz😭 and it isn’t because I haven’t made calls and asked. The most concerning and dangerous reality of our country is the decentralized anarchy and the fact that the very security agents that are supposed to protect us are for sale to the highest bidder. Anyone with money now can hire them to abduct you and harm you. So it’s hard to even establish whether Tabz is being held by the state or by individuals he has rubbed the wrong way. We know a couple of them here. Either way, the burden is on the state to produce him or search for him. If they don’t, all of us as his friends will get up and march in search of Tabz. For God and my country. #FreeTabz #FreeAllPoliticalPrisonersUg
INNER STRENGTH - part 3
We often hear that military coups in Africa are staged by the CIA or French intelligence.
And yet as the coups unfold, we don't see any CIA, MI6, or DGSE agents in action or on the streets.
So how do they cause these coups?
(Ever thought of that?)
I'm struck by the number of people who yesterday mocked Lukwago but who are now coming out, one by one, to apologise to the country, without anybody forcing them to.
It shows the degree of public anger and trauma.
MK has successfully united the country...against himself.
A few days ago, I posted a comment by former Mossad Director, Yossi Cohen, who said a nation's greatest power is in a society's INNER STRENGTH.
Ugandan society lacks this inner strength.
So, what is "inner strength"?
Understanding it is key to how we face the current crisis.
We’ll not reshare the torture images of @EriasLukwago, as to do so would be to further the interest of the folks carrying out the unlawful actions and to perpetuate his undignified and humiliating treatment.
We’ll say, though, that such actions are a daylight manifestation of the state of our country, captive to the shallow interest of a small clique to whom the law is a suggestion, rather than a command.
You humiliate the man, torture him, but you’ll never match the power of his ideas; the high moral grounds on which he stands will be a summit you will only glance from afar.
We’d demand that he be set free or taken to court through a lawful process if he has committed any crime, but i doubt you’ll heed to such calls. It is out of your grapes. So we will only ask that when you have satisfied your cheap desires, leave him alive to return to his family, cause, and country. He’ll meet and vanquish you in the arena of ideas, law, and morality.
If you're building a home in a hot climate, your design needs to do the work your AC unit is doing right now.
These 8 principles can reduce your energy consumption between 30 and 40%. Aim for at least 6.

I am deeply grateful for the trust President Trump placed in me and for the opportunity to lead @ODNIgov for the last year and a half.
Unfortunately, I must submit my resignation, effective June 30, 2026. My husband, Abraham, has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer. He faces major challenges in the coming weeks and months. At this time, I must step away from public service to be by his side and fully support him through this battle.
I’m now at a point of feeling empathy, even pity, for Among. She shouldn’t have become the deputy speaker at that time she did. Worse still, Oulanyah’s death made her speaker at a time she needed at least 20 years’ to get the position. The speakership was a poisoned chalice; the rope she used to hang herself.
The more information comes out about her, the more even her biggest defenders will see a lady drunk on power, supplied by her own naivety. Her favourite symbols of power were cars & proximity to the first family. Of these things she dreamt, and lived for. She could have done anything to prove she loved the first family, and cars. In many ways, she thought she got them.
In the end, the same things she worked so hard for, the things she coveted, her raison d’etre from the time she became speaker, became her biggest undoing. It seems they didn't love, or care about her as much as she loved and wanted them! Poor lady!
On 4th Nov 2017, MBS rounded up 400 of Saudi’s biggest businessmen, politicians & royal family, detained them at the Ritz and told them they couldn’t leave unless they handed over proceeds of corruption.
From the first 87 people, they recovered $107bn, twice Uganda’s GDP 🙌🏽🤯🤯
The Kofi Annan Courage in Cartooning Award 2026 is a humbling recognition! It was also such a big honour for the Geneva event to be graced by Nobel Laureate in Economics, Prof. Joseph Stiglitz. I do not take it for granted. Thank you
Ghana has become the first country to integrate digital payments into its national identity card, ending its partnerships with U.S.-based payment giants Visa and Mastercard in Africa. Well done, Ghana 🇬🇭
With the greatest humility, I am pleased to announce that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, along with their allies, have agreed to an immediate ceasefire everywhere including Lebanon and elsewhere, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.
I warmly welcome the sagacious gesture and extend deepest gratitude to the leadership of both the countries and invite their delegations to Islamabad on Friday, 10th April 2026, to further negotiate for a conclusive agreement to settle all disputes.
Both parties have displayed remarkable wisdom and understanding and have remained constructively engaged in furthering the cause of peace and stability. We earnestly hope, that the ‘Islamabad Talks’ succeed in achieving sustainable peace and wish to share more good news in coming days!

The mother of Mikaeil Mirdoraghi, a third-grade student grade student killed in U.S. airstrike on primary school in Minab:
I had prepared dinner for him and when he was eating he said: “Mom, the food you made tastes like heaven.”
I said: “My son, why are you saying this? You’ve never said this before.”
Around midnight he put pillows around himself and sat with his brother. He said: “Brother, let’s play. I’m Iran and you’re America. Let’s play with guns and tanks.”
They started playing together. He said: “See, Iran won? Brother, Iran won. I was Iran and I won.” My son said Iran was the winner.
All these things seemed to be inspired to him that night. He did all of this the night before his martyrdom.
He also prayed and read the Quran that night.
In the morning he said: “Mom, take a picture of me.”
This child was an angel. He used to say: “My name is Mikaeel. Mikaeel means God’s angel. If anyone has a wish, tell me so I can fulfill it.”
God loved him too and took him to Himself.
It is true, exactly like that. It was the heartless America that launched a missile at this school where there was nothing suspicious.
They just wanted to kill our children.
We’re excited to collaborate with partners across the ecosystem to help align innovation while supporting consistent standards and responsible growth.
