It is amazing that another year has gone by. We give praise and honour to God for His loving kindness, mercy and grace. He has walked with us and we are at the beginning of another year! It is hard to believe that you are 82!
2026 has been a year unlike other years, and therefore we have even more reasons to give thanks to God for the blessing of life. The fact that I am here in person to wish you a happy birthday is a testament to God’s goodness and Faithfulness.
Happy 82nd birthday, Mzee! May God continue to bless and use you mightily.
I mourn the loss of His Majesty Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.
I convey my heartfelt condolences to the Queen Mother, the Royal Family and the people of Tooro. This is indeed a very difficult time for the Kingdom, and I pray that God grants the family and the people of Tooro strength and comfort.
May God receive His Majesty’s soul and grant him eternal peace.
I thank Pastor Adeboye and Bishop LaDonna Osborn for joining us on this important occasion. I also reminded religious leaders that the substance of Christianity is to heal the sick, feed the hungry and free those in bondage, as Jesus came to do.
I congratulate Bishop Patience and wish her strength and wisdom as she takes on this new responsibility.
Heavenly Father, we celebrate with great joy the consecration of our daughter, Patience to the office of a Bishop. We are overwhelmed with joy and thanksgiving at the great honor You have bestowed over us in choosing one of our children to serve You in this capacity. This consecration proves that You remember the faithful sacrifices of Your saints who have long since gone home to glory.
O Lord, You do not forget Your people and their sacrifices. Thank You for being a God Who remembers Your people. This also shows that You have remembered Mzee and I and our years of service to You and Your people. This consecration is a great comfort and joy to us because it shows us that You have received our service and sacrifices and are pleased with us.
Congratulations to our trailblazer Bishop-Elect. This is our first Female Bishop in Uganda. In Christ there is no female nor male. If the Holy Spirit can make a woman a great Pastor, He can also make her a great Bishop🙏🏾
Today, Maama Janet and I received international evangelist, Bishop Dr. LaDonna C. Osborn at State House Entebbe. She is in Uganda ahead of the consecration of Pastor Patience Rwabwogo as a Bishop.
Dr. Osborn recalled her first visit to Uganda in 1985 with her late mother, who ministered to many Ugandans during a difficult period in our history. Maama Janet also fondly recalled Dr. Osborn’s mother, who prayed with our family and gave our children their first Bibles.
We reflected on Uganda’s transformation over the years and the enduring friendship between the Osborn family and Uganda. I welcome Dr. Osborn back to Uganda and wish Pastor Patience a blessed consecration.
We reflected on the longstanding spiritual relationship between the Osborn family and Uganda, and the transformation our country has undergone over the years.
I am grateful to God for Dr. Osborn’s continued love for Uganda and for her support of Pastor Patience Rwabwogo. As we prepare for Pastor Patience’s consecration as an Episcopal Bishop on 23rd August, I pray that God continues to guide and strengthen her in this new responsibility.
I welcome Dr. Osborn back to Uganda and pray that her visit will be a blessing to many.
Today, I joined H.E. the President in welcoming international evangelist Bishop Dr. LaDonna C. Osborn to State House Entebbe.
It was a special and deeply nostalgic meeting for me as I remembered her late mother, who visited our family many years ago. She prayed with us and gave each of our children their first Bible, together with one of her books. The memories of that visit remain very precious to our family.
It's me, Janet Museveni. It is a confirmation that the God I talk about is a living God. He is not a myth, He lives!
I must therefore thank Uganda, beginning with Mzee, who has prayed with the whole nation. I praise God for leading us to know Him. Thank you all for coming out publicly to pray for me.
Thank you for all those continuous prayers and also for the kind birthday wishes. Thank you for letting me know just how much I am loved.
I congratulate the College on its increasing enrolment and improved performance, especially in STEM subjects, establishing it as a role model within the community. I encourage all stakeholders to support the competence-based curriculum through awareness and parental involvement.
To our students, stay focused, uphold good morals, avoid negative peer pressure and substance abuse, and remember that the decisions you make today lay the foundation for your future success. I appreciate the Archbishop, the Board, the PTA, parents, and all stakeholders for their ongoing support and dedication to education, and I urge everyone to unite in this noble endeavour.
God bless you.
Government introduced this shift to enable learners to engage in research, practical skills, and digital learning, preparing them to adapt to global demands and drive sustainable development. I commend the Head teacher and staff for their active involvement in learners’ education, which contributes to developments including classroom blocks, sanitation facilities, and the school perimeter. These achievements must be protected through proper stewardship.
Please be mindful of our learners’ need for psycho-social support, and prioritize guidance and counselling, alongside co-curricular and project work activities. Be proactive, do not wait for learners to show signs of mental distress, as early guidance is far more effective than late intervention.
I was pleased to join a fundraising effort for a new Science Block with a laboratory at Seeta College, in line with Government’s efforts to advance STEM education. It is encouraging to see the early adoption of the Lower Secondary Competence Based Curriculum here, where learners make bricks for school infrastructure—demonstrating the value of hands-on skills, innovation, and real-world problem solving.
The importance of strengthening Uganda–Ireland collaboration, especially in expanding practical skills training to meet our increasing infrastructure and employment needs, was central to my meeting with @IEAmbUganda Mags Gaynor.
We appreciate our partnership and the consistent support Ireland provides to our education sector.
As we honored some of the most outstanding architects of our nation’s future, "Teachers Making a Difference" has played a vital role in celebrating and honoring teachers who go beyond their professional responsibilities in service to their communities. This program reinforces the value of innovation and commitment in the teaching profession.
I use the word "architects" because, as teachers, you are the foundation of our education system and key pillars in shaping the citizens Uganda needs for the development of a prosperous nation.
We cannot talk of achieving 'a transformed Ugandan society from a peasant to a modern prosperous country' without a strong education system and a critical mass of dedicated teaching staff.
I commend the strong and longstanding partnership between Uganda and the European Union as we prepare to mark 50 years of bilateral cooperation, following my meeting with Ambassador @JanSadek and his delegation.
We are grateful for its impact in improving the quality of life of our people through skills development, employment, entrepreneurship, and social protection.
