тЮбя╕П As per 2025 draft regulations, if you have a PG degree (NCrF Level 6.5) with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in disciplines such as Arts, Commerce, Humanities, Education, Law, Social Sciences, Sciences, Languages, Library Science, Physical Education, Journalism & Mass Communication, Management, Drama, Yoga, Music, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Other Traditional Indian Art Forms like Sculpture, you must qualify in the National Eligibility Test (NET)/SET/SLET to be eligible for appointment as an assistant professor.
тЮбя╕П However, for appointments in Engineering and Technology departments, if you have a PG degree (NCrF Level 7; e.g. M.E., M. Tech.,) with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade), you will be eligible for appointment as an assistant professor without qualifying in National Eligibility Test (NET). This aligns with the AICTE requirements for entry-level appointments in engineering and technology disciplines.
тЮбя╕П In all the above disciplines, if you have a PhD, you become eligible for appointment as an assistant professor without needing UGC-NET.
тЮбя╕П However, for subjects such as Drama, Yoga, Music, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Other Traditional Indian Art Forms like Sculpture etc., applicants with a UG degree and professional attainments are eligible for appointment as assistant professors.

The application process for the UGC NET December 2024 session is now open. The examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode, covering 85 subjects.
So, the aspirants are advised to complete and submit their applications by 10th December 2024, before 11:50 PM.
