In response to the Ebola outbreak in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, the Starlink team has provided 150 kits to @AfricaCDC, enabling reliable connectivity for frontline health workers working in affected areas
๐จ SPACEX JUST GOT FAA APPROVAL TO TEST ITS NEW โSTARFALLโ CAPSULES.
These are not regular reentry vehicles.
SpaceXโs new circular Starfall capsules are designed to bring up to 1,000 kg of payload back from orbit safely, repeatedly, and at scale.
They can launch on either Falcon 9 or Starship, perform in-space manufacturing, then reenter and splash down in the Pacific for rapid recovery.
Why this matters:
โข Enables true commercial in-space manufacturing (microgravity + vacuum) that can be returned to Earth
โข Could become a โproliferated successorโ to the ISS for self-sustaining space industry
โข Opens the door to rapid point-to-point cargo delivery from orbit to anywhere on Earth
โข Directly competes with companies like Varda that have been flying similar missions on SpaceX rockets
The deeper implication is massive:
We are moving from โoccasional experiments in spaceโ to routine manufacturing and logistics in orbit.
If Starfall works at scale, companies could build factories in space, produce high-value materials that canโt be made on Earth, and ship them back down regularly all without needing a full space station.
This is one of the clearest steps yet toward a real, self-sustaining commercial space economy.
What do you think will in-space manufacturing finally become a serious industry, or is this still too early?

Google DeepMind just reinvented the mouse pointer.
Since Doug Engelbart's demo in 1968, the little arrow on your screen has barely changed. Until now.
The new AI pointer sees what you're pointing at, understands the context, and responds to your voice. You point at an image of a building, say "show me the route," and that's it.
No copy-paste, no chat window, no prompt gymnastics.Powered by Gemini. First demos are live in Chrome and Google AI Studio. This might be the beginning of the end for the classic chatbot interface.
really really cool! Im using wispr flow right now but this is literally the next step
When we came into office, we uncovered a $12 billion budget deficit.
Today, Iโm proud to say we brought it down to zero.
We didnโt close the gap on the backs of working people.
We closed it while funding parks, libraries, safer streets and making historic investments in public housing.
Call it Pothole Politics. Call it Democratic Socialism. It's government that delivers for the people who make this city run.
Thatโs what New Yorkers deserve. And thatโs what we will keep fighting for every single day.
We just pulled the curtain back on some incredible news at #TheAndroidShow: I/O Edition today. We announced the biggest updates to Android ever, from Gemini Intelligence, Android platform upgrades, and whatโs new beyond the phone โ including the introduction of Googlebooks.
