People say that people from the General Category are "privileged." Let me debunk that with my own example.

I come from the Khatri community. My family lived in Punjab (now in Pakistan) before Partition. During Partition, my grandfather had to leave behind his home, livelihood, and everything he owned to start over in India.

People often claim that refugees were given land by the government. My family received nothing. And even for those who did, everyone knows the compensation was nowhere close to what they had lost.

My grandfather worked hard. My father worked hard. Now it's my turn to work hard. Even today, we live in a rented house. We don't own a business or inherited wealth. We built everything from scratch in a completely new place, without any government support.

And yet I'm called "privileged"?

If you receives state backed advantages, lower cut offs, other government benefits, and dozens of laws in your favour who is actually privileged?
