🚨The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) killed four Palestinians, including two brothers, and wounded four others while providing protection to a group of Israeli settler militias during an attack on the village of Tal, south of #Nablus in the northern West Bank. The incident escalated into acts of retaliation and collective punishment after #Palestinian residents attempted to defend themselves in an incident that resulted in the killing of two settlers.

▪️This incident exemplifies a pattern of joint crimes against Palestinian civilians and their property, in which IOF provide military protection to Israeli settlers as they carry out assaults and use lethal force against Palestinians attempting to defend themselves or their property. This pattern reflects the de facto integration of the IOF and settlers in carrying out systematic attacks aimed at imposing new settlement realities on the ground and forcibly displacing Palestinians from their land.

📌 Since the beginning of the year, IOF and settlers killed 79 Palestinians in the West Bank, including 19 children and 2 women, noting that 16 of those victims were killed by settlers’ fire.

🚨 The ambulance, emergency response, and medical transport system in the #Gaza Strip is facing an unprecedented and critical deterioration as a result of Israel’s suffocating siege and its continued ban on the entry of essential supplies needed to operate and repair ambulances and other medical vehicles. This has severely undermined the capacity of healthcare personnel to respond to emergencies, reach the injured and sick in a timely manner, and provide lifesaving ambulance services at a time when the Gaza Strip is experiencing one of the worst humanitarian catastrophes in its history. As casualties continue to rise, destruction expands, and medical needs reach unprecedented levels, the emergency response system is rapidly approaching collapse. This deterioration forms part of the Israeli Occupation Forces’ (IOF) systematic targeting of Gaza’s healthcare system since October 2023. That policy has included the destruction of hospitals, healthcare centers, ambulances, and other medical infrastructure; the imposition of severe restrictions on the entry of medicines, medical equipment, fuel, and other essential operational supplies; and direct attacks on medical personnel. ♦️The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) continue to escalate their systematic destruction of remaining homes and residential neighborhoods across the #Gaza Strip. Through intensified aerial bombardments, they target houses after forcing residents to evacuate through phone calls and direct threats. This forms part of a broader policy aimed at destroying what remains of Gaza’s homes and civilian infrastructure, after more than 80% of the Strip’s housing stock has already been destroyed during more than 1,000 days of the ongoing #genocide.

📝 Statistics collected by the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights’ (PCHR) researchers indicate that the bombardment and destruction of homes have become a daily pattern, targeting entire residential blocks. The IOF force hundreds of civilians to evacuate under threat before completely destroying or severely damaging their homes. As a result, more areas across the Gaza Strip are rendered uninhabitable, deliberately undermining any possibility for Palestinians to remain in or return to their areas.

▪️This escalation coincides with the IOF continued commission of mass killings on a daily basis through attacks on civilian gatherings, displacement tents, civilian vehicles, and people in the streets, alongside the ongoing expansion of the “Yellow Zone.” These measures further constrain more than two million Palestinians, most of whom are now living in worn-out tents or makeshift shelters that lack the minimum conditions necessary for human survival, amid extreme summer heat, the spread of diseases, severe water shortages, and the near-total collapse of the healthcare system and other essential services.

🚱 More than two million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are facing an unprecedented water crisis that threatens their lives and undermines their human dignity. The crisis is driven by Israeli restrictions on the entry of fuel, equipment, and maintenance materials needed to rehabilitate and operate water facilities, as well as by the catastrophic consequences of the Israeli offensive that began on 7 October 2023 and the widespread destruction it has caused to water wells, desalination plants, transmission pipelines, distribution networks, water reservoirs, and pumping stations. The ongoing siege and widespread destruction have severely undermined the capacity of local service providers to produce, transport, and distribute water, disrupting its regular delivery to the population, particularly in areas overcrowded with displaced people. As a result, access to sufficient and safe water has become an exhausting daily struggle for Palestinians in Gaza, forcing them to travel long distances and wait for hours to obtain only limited quantities of water that fall far short of meeting even their most basic needs.

💧The water crisis in the Gaza Strip has gone beyond an emergency shortage of supplies, developing into a policy of systematic and calculated deprivation affecting one of the most essential requirements for the survival of the civilian population. The consequences of the collapse of the water system extend far beyond the deprivation of drinking water itself. They also impede food preparation, the sterilization of medical equipment, the operation of healthcare facilities, and the maintenance of even the most basic standards of personal hygiene. Together, these conditions have made the water crisis a major factor in worsening starvation, the spread of disease, malnutrition, and rising mortality among children, patients, and older persons.

📝Field monitoring by the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) indicates that the Gaza Strip is experiencing an alarming water crisis, with approximately 85% of the population deprived of regular access to clean water.1 As a result, families are forced to rely on unsafe and unreliable water sources, including water delivered by private tankers and commercially operated wells that are not subject to regulatory oversight. This places an additional financial burden on households amid the worsening economic and humanitarian conditions.

♦️The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) continue to kill Palestinian civilians throughout the #Gaza Strip through repeated attacks by drones and warplanes, as well as direct gunfire targeting civilian gatherings and displacement tents. These recurring attacks follow a consistent pattern that continues to claim the lives of increasing numbers of civilians, including children and displaced people. Through these attacks, Israel seeks to destroy what remains of civilian life in the Gaza Strip.

▪️Over the past few days, the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR)’s field researchers have documented the continued targeting of civilians while they were moving about or present in their homes, displacement tents, and public spaces, as well as the assassination of relief workers and the ongoing targeting of police officers and personnel. These attacks reflect Israel’s systematic policy of expanding the scope of killings and instilling fear among the civilian population.

▪️PCHR views with the utmost concern the IOF’s targeting of a civilian vehicle carrying Mohammed al-Wheidi, Director of Public Relations at the Egyptian Committee in the Gaza Strip, killing him and other civilians. The attack occurred while the Egypt–Argentina match was underway during the World Cup, as al-Wheidi was supervising preparations for a public screening of the match. This raises serious concerns that the IOF’s targeting extends beyond the killing of Palestinians to the deliberate destruction of even the limited spaces and moments of normal life and collective joy available to Gaza’s besieged population. By targeting individuals and initiatives that provide these rare opportunities, Israel appears to be pursuing a policy aimed at destroying the remaining manifestations of civilian life and keeping the population in a constant state of fear and deprivation.

▪️Taken together, these developments demonstrate the IOF’s continued implementation of systematic policies aimed at destroying the conditions necessary for life in the Gaza Strip. Through widespread killings, largescale destruction, and repeated forced displacement, the IOF continue to deliberately inflict conditions of life calculated to make the territory uninhabitable, thereby reinforcing the material elements of the crime of #genocide. They further demonstrate that the crimes being committed are not limited to targeting individuals but are directed against the continued existence of the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip as a whole.

🚨 Another Chapter in the Policy of Comprehensive Medical Strangulation in the Gaza Strip: Depletion of Sodium Bicarbonate Threatens the Lives of 650 Kidney Failure Patients

♦️The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) warns of the imminent danger threatening the lives of approximately 650 kidney failure patients in the Gaza Strip following the depletion of sodium bicarbonate, an essential component of dialysis solution without which dialysis sessions cannot be conducted safely or effectively. As a result of this acute shortage, hospitals have been forced to reduce both the duration and frequency of dialysis sessions, exposing patients to severe health complications that may ultimately lead to death.

◾️Reduced dialysis sessions result in the accumulation of toxins and excess fluids in patients’ bodies, increased blood acidity, respiratory distress caused by fluid accumulation in the lungs, swelling of the extremities, loss of appetite, extreme fatigue, and rapid deterioration of patients’ health conditions, making uninterrupted treatment literally a matter of life or death. PCHR emphasizes that depriving kidney failure patients of the sodium bicarbonate required for their treatment is not merely a temporary supply shortage; rather, it constitutes another component of the policy of comprehensive medical strangulation, which relies on destroying healthcare facilities, killing doctors, targeting paramedics, and preventing the entry of medicines in order to achieve the same result: the physical destruction of civilians and patients in the #Gaza Strip.
