Inflation in Spain has fallen to 2% - here’s why https://t.co/MEUwDoOl7q “Spain capped energy prices by more than the UK, lowered the cost of public transport, taxed excess profits and put in place limits on how much landlords can raise rents”.
Sunak is breathtakingly dishonest. From his shameless claim that Starmer’s policy to stop drilling in the North Sea (entirely as per international scientific & political consensus) was bought by donations from an environmentalist, to his claims that his own rogue policies to start drilling will benefit the country - it really is little more than a lie when the facts say the exact opposite (it can’t lower energy bills or give us security).
But perhaps we can understand his approach a little better today - @RishiSunak's family may not be unemployed or disabled but they are on state benefits - that’s how this $1.5 billion contract looks to me. And that too is breathtakingly dishonest.

@pcs_union and Government Talks Update:
"This is a completely, unacceptable announcement that the Government have made today" - Mark Serwotka, PCS General Secretary - Watch 👇
#pcsonstrike#BlameTheGovt
Today we remember the 97 and all those affected by the Hillsborough disaster.
As we reflect, let us also remember their legacy - that of an enduring campaign for truth.
No one should ever again suffer the injustices inflicted on them.
The UK’s most senior civil servants could take their first strike action in more than a decade after ministers imposed an average pay rise of between 4.5% and 5%, in a move described as “unconscionable” by union leaders.

We can do better than this - if we stick together.
In the last 30 years, the wealth of British billionaires has increased by over 1000%.
Don’t let anyone tell you that pay restoration for NHS staff is unaffordable.
Keeping workers poor is a political choice. Solidarity with all those fighting back!
Outside the Job Centre, work coach Geoff Burns and area rep Moe Brasier tell me that many colleagues working in the DWP are on Universal Credit themselves, the same payments that are managed by their own Gov department.
Geoff says that it’s a complete “paradox”

Wholesale gas/oil is now below the price is was before Russia invaded the Ukraine.
So why aren't the big energy firms reflecting this?
Businesses are going to the wall.
Families are having to choose to eat or heat.
The Gov't urgently needs to intervene.
How to destroy the NHS:
Step 1. Run it into the ground with austerity.
Step 2. Exploit the crisis to empower the private sector.
Step 3. Abolish the principle of universal health care.
End privatisation, support striking workers and save our NHS.
