Today at the airport, I witnessed a scene I will never forget.

Today in Central Park, Mayor Zohran Mamdani and FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced a FREE World Cup Final watch party on the Great Lawn.

The event will welcome 50,000 fans and is expected to be one of the largest World Cup watch parties in the world.

Registration for the ticket lottery opens this Thursday through Global Citizen, with the watch party taking place on July 19.

The announcement also marked the opening of FIFA Arena, a free mini-soccer pitch in Central Park that will be open to the public throughout the tournament.
