@draftniks I love this argument- so year 1 was so disproportionately bad for the Mets that it's almost already impossible for this 5 year picture to work in Sterns favor. Choosing to let Pete go is one thing, replacing him with the worst 1B combo of all time is quite another.

@GoodFundies He's mostly been a major failure. I don't hate him at all. I hate the decisions that have led us to going from the NLCS to nearly missing the playoffs to bottom 6 in baseball in 2 years.

@Cryler__ @ejprinting But it hits off the top of his glove while his postioning himself to turn a double play- this is as routine as routine gets. He's not jumping- this is not a tough play nor a particularly tough hop. Much harder if ball stays down then at this height.

@ZackScottSports It's disingenious to say the Mets wanted Pete. They doled out some of the most ludicrious contracts and were willing to give Tucker $240M for 4 years!!!! Sterns didn't want Alonso in the offseason of '24 and only off a very team friendly deal was retained. Come on.
