@BBC_Cumbria As one of those 'immature' vegan ecologists that she had a dig at during her radio love-in,I found the inclusivity of this interview went over the line of famed BBC impartiality. Why not invite e.g George Monbiot on for a mature chat about UK farming practices to even things up?
@BBC_Cumbria Appears there's nowhere else to post complaints that others can see other than on this incongrous thread. The complaint in question is about Caroline Robertson and the last instalment of her strangely lionising interview with some farmer guy this morning...(1/2)

The sight of Branson with his begging bowl extended while Climate Change is forgotten does not bode well for any future humanity may have left

The next book to tick off my reading list. A psychogeographical classic. It just seems to be the right time to finally get round to reading it

@BardCumberland Possibly. They all sort of merge into one in mythology . Ravenglass is supposedly Avalon, the Isle of Apples,in some times. There's certainly an Arthurian link via Galahad,I'm fairly sure
@SporadicArtist@urbanprehisto @_RomanBritain @CMVerse Oh that one. Can't bring its name to mind. You can certainly take all those sites in on a long summer's day
More CAIRNHOLY. From this angle you can get a good idea of the extent of the underground chambers when it was all overlaid with sod.

@SporadicArtist@urbanprehisto @_RomanBritain @CMVerse The finest Neolithic monument in the whole of Dumfries is in Barr,3 mins from Thornhill: a 120ft long cairn. Epic is the only word for it
@SporadicArtist@urbanprehisto @_RomanBritain @CMVerse It's the PERFECT touring base. It's no Moniaive or Wallaceton in terms of character or ambiance, but it's easy to get in and out of
@SporadicArtist@urbanprehisto @_RomanBritain @CMVerse Indeed. Holywell. My dad lives in Thornhill. I used to be a regular visitor to the area back in the days when one was legally permitted to visit one's aged parents! My ident photo is of the last standing stone of a vast circle at Templand Mains actually in Thornhill
While digging around photo folders from 2019,reliving old memories in this year of absent memories, found this from Dunragit, which I believe,is one of the sites of a sprawling Neolithic village contemporaneous with the extant burial mound just further up
