The Spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia would like to inform the general public and the international community that, according to received information at 10:49 a.m. on 3 August 2025, the Thai military, in cooperation with Thai authorities, has instructed its remaining civilians in the border area of Surin Province to evacuate by tonight.

The same sources also confirmed that the Thai military plans to launch attacks along the border starting from the Tamone Thom Temple, Ta Krabey Temple, Preah Vihear Temple, up to the Anseh area. These attacks are expected to commence soon, prior to the scheduled meeting of the Extraordinary Meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC) on 7 August 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

This planned offensive constitutes a violation of the territorial sovereignty of Cambodia before the GBC meeting, and it is a serious breach of the ceasefire agreement mutually agreed upon by both countries on 28 July 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, with Malaysia, the United States, and China as witnesses.

Cambodia appeals to the international community to help prevent this at all costs and urges the Thai side to immediately stop its planned aggression, if this information is true, and to respect the ceasefire agreement fully for the sake of peace and stability along the border areas of both countries and the entire region.

Thai border officials at Chong Jom, Surin Province, returned two detained Cambodian men to Cambodia on August 1st after providing medical treatment.

One detainee had a broken arm and infected hip wound, while the other suffered psychological distress believed caused by combat stress. Both received initial treatment from Thai authorities before transfer.

Officials followed Geneva Convention protocols and Thai laws regarding humane treatment of detainees, including anti-torture and immigration regulations. #surin #thailand

The Ministry of Information has released an urgent communication from the Cambodian Human Rights Committee to the UN, denouncing the unlawful capture and mistreatment of Cambodian soldiers by Thai forces. Of the 20 soldiers detained after a ceasefire agreement, only two have been returned—both in alarming condition. One is now physically disabled; the other is suffering from severe psychological trauma, reportedly due to degrading treatment while in Thai custody. Cambodia is demanding the immediate release of the remaining 18 and accountability for these violations of international law.

🇹🇭 Thailand committed the War crimes that the world need to see 💥

Thailand has done alot of things that violated of law of war:
• Attacked Cambodia without launch the war.
• Use of banned weapons.
• Kidnapped Cambodian soldiers after Ceasefire which means Cambodian soldiers are not prisoners of war.
• Torture Cambodian soldiers. Etc

After the ceasefire agreement, Thailand military kidnapped 20 of our soldiers, took them into their territory, and punished them.
Now, only 2 have been released with unstable mental health and one another is serious injury.

BREAKING: Cambodian Commander Alleges Thailand Abducted 20 Cambodian Soldiers Despite Ceasefire

on July 30, Cambodian media report that the Commander of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces told foreign military attachés and diplomats from 13 countries who visited the area near the Thai-Cambodian border, alleging that the Thai army had abducted 20 Cambodian soldiers.

Of these, one managed to escape, and two others are presumed dead, following the start of the ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia.

The Cambodian military commander stated that after the ceasefire came into effect at midnight on July 29, Cambodian soldiers approached Thai soldiers with good intentions to shake hands, but the Thai soldiers instead used firearms to abduct the Cambodian soldiers.

The Cambodian military stated that the Thai army has not yet released the abducted Cambodian soldiers.
