@benno_nagel I live in suburbs of a host city, same thing. Every soccer field looks just like that. We need to have something like free soccer camp every Saturday and Sunday where kids can just show up. No set teams. Adult coaches/trainers run through drills, pick teams for games.
@Fibonacci69 The NBA turned into a three point shooting contest with players faking fouls and flopping onto the ground. That’s why nobody watches anymore. Shortening the same trash product by 8 mins won’t bring viewers back.
@Trollkickoff Anybody really believe Mourhino will finish the season at Madrid? Perez will fire him by the new year when they 6 or 7 pts behind in the table.
I’ve made this point before. I see clips on social media all the time of kids from other countries playing soccer in the streets or at dirt fields. I live in the suburbs of a rather large American city. There are no kids playing soccer anywhere on any suburban soccer field. Only if it’s an organized league practice or game. There are no pickup games of soccer, no kids with or without a parent working on their skills. Very nice soccer fields just sitting empty all across the suburbs. America will never fully compete with the top countries in men’s soccer. It’s just not in our DNA.
If it’s a sponsored event which a lot are there is a liability factor. If someone got it injured in the race by someone who wasn’t an official participant then you can imagine the person mightly sue the event organizer for their injuries and for not providing a safe environment for the event.
@choquei I can’t believe this is a thing. Why would people do this? If you’re someone who enjoys running just pay the fee it’s not usually an excessive amount of money. If you do not run normally then this is just weird and creepy and quite bizarre behavior.
Nobody thinks it’s unusual that they have to pay someone to retrieve carts? Customers are willing to push shopping carts up and down the aisles for 30 minutes while shopping, but at some point in our not too distant past we found it too much effort and an inconvenience to spend a minute or two to walk the cart back to the store?
@JCFights I had a summer job one year maintaing and repairing county bridges. I’ll just say this…After “repairing” some bridges my thought was “I’m NEVER driving over that bridge”
