#PDPReconciliation
“Our leaders in the South West have demonstrated that the @OfficialPDPNig can retake the South West in 2023. With the incompetence being displayed by the ruling party, a united and refocused PDP is a better option for the enlightened people of the South West”, Okorie stated.
The @PDP_NRSC has commended the leadership of the party in Oyo, Ekiti, Ondo, Lagos, Osun and Ogun States for the successful conduct of the zonal congress in Osogbo, where officers of the party were elected in a free, fair and peaceful manner.
The committee stated that the maturity, peaceful disposition, unity, devotion, good spirit of brotherliness and sportsmanship displayed at the congress deserved emulation by PDP leaders in other zones within the party.
The youths, the committee noted, presented some requests during the meeting and the demands were deliberated upon by the committee on March 22nd, 2021 following which the two-point recommendations contained in the letter were agreed upon.
The National Reconciliation and Strategy Committee (NRSC) of @OfficialPDPNig has recommended that any aspirant seeking to contest for elective position on the platform of the party who is under the age of 35 years should be exempted from the payment of nomination fees.
The committee explained that the recommendation was a result of the meeting it held with the party’s National Youth Leader and other youth leaders across the 36 states of the nation on March 9th, 2021.
The Committee therefore calls on both groups in the Niger PDP and all stakeholders to bury the hatchet and work together in the best interest of the party. We appeal to everybody to look at the big picture and let us work for unity, cohesion and peace.
The attention of the PDP National Reconciliation and Strategy Committee (NRSC) has been drawn to a statement issued yesterday by one Yahaya Usman on behalf of a group loyal to one of the chairmanship aspirants in the Niger State chapter of the party.
The NRSC is very conscious of the fact that none of the two groups can on its own bring unity to the ranks of the party in the state or win future elections. The two groups need to work together so that the PDP’s bird in the state can soar higher with two healthy wings.
