@NikKundra@Google@Wikipedia It's more about keeping the number of cases down. Think about it this way: if mortality rate is halved, but we have double the number of cases, where does that leave us? Exactly the same number of deaths. Mortality rate is halved but you have 6,8,10x the cases?.. (2/2)
@NikKundra@Google@Wikipedia As I said, it depends on many factors. Namely younger people are getting it so are less likely to die. But there is no set time to death: a Broadway actor just died after 4 months of battling covid. And even people that don't die can have lifelong respitory issues. (1/2)
@12345678edcba@AngieGr60130939@joncoopertweets Sorry for the delayed response but yes, 1.4^10 is slightly less than 29! It equals approx. 28.925. Exponents are funny like that they increase exponentially (get it?) as the #'s get bigger. 5^10th is almost 9.8 MILLION :o

I think because 1.4 doesn't actually translate to 2 people (at least mathematically) he seems to have just done 1.4*10 levels= 14. But you're correct that 1.4^10 would actually equal almost 29. Still his overall point stands.
@12345678edcba@AngieGr60130939@joncoopertweets The math is correct, this is how exponents work. 1 person infects 3 people, then each of those infect 3 people so that's 3*3= 9, following the same rule you get 27, then 81 and so on. You'll notice this is just 3^1=3, 3^2=9, 3^3=27, and so on. 3^10= 59,049. Anyone can check this!
