let me put it bluntly: every argument for the electoral college became null and void as soon as the united states adopted a semblance of something like universal suffrage (so roughly the 1830s, with the advent of universal white male suffrage).

The winner-take-all Electoral College is not in the constitution. We either need to base electoral votes on percentage of that state's votes or get rid of it. The current system is not representative of the electorate. #ElectoralCollege
