@fate_unleashed and somehow none of THOSE engenes spoke up when sunghoon admitted he had covid during the entire blood saga US tour. they need rest, and that’s the main point of the boycott.
I genuinely don’t understand how some of you watched that behind video of enha and didn’t realise how telling it was.
I will never understand people watching members visibly fight through exhaustion, maybe acknowledging said exhaustion, and then immediately celebrating the fact that they’re already recording another album and/or asking for more content, another comeback, another achievement, etc.
Riki loves dancing. We KNOW that. He is someone who has spent forever talking about how dance is his life. So watching him physically „slap“ his face trying to stay awake and focused during practice, questioning how he can keep going, knowing they still had hours left, breaks my heart..
And somehow the response to that is „aww, he’s so cute”, jokes about him “twerking,” or „this was so sad to watch, they worked so hard, but at least it paid off!! manifesting even more success and activities!”
I’m sorry, but did we watch the same thing??
And this isn’t only about Riki. I’m using him as an example because that specific moment is so viral, but the principle applies to every member ofc.
They have repeatedly pushed through exhaustion, injuries, illness and schedules that never stop. For years.
Dance practice alone can absolutely exhaust you physically. I danced competitively myself- I know what hours of practice can do to your body and concentration. Now add recording, vocal practice, performances, shoots, fittings, interviews, content, travel, brand schedules, tour rehearsals, concerts and everything else idols do, to those practices.
And then i’m upposed to see someone struggling to keep going and think the appropriate reward is more work?
Their achievements are already the reward for the work they have done. They don’t owe us more because fans won them an award.
So it definitely bothered me when riki talked about continuing to work hard to “repay” engenes. Riki, there is nothing to repay. You already did the work, made the album, practiced, performed, toured, etc.
At some point somebody needs to be allowed to fcking REST.
All this is exactly why the news that they’re already recording another album, when the current album came out TWO WEEKS AGO and they’re still touring (plus a million other things), didn’t make me excited. It made me really concerned.
You cannot tell me in one tweet that watching them this exhausted broke your heart and then tell me in the next how excited you are that they’re already working on the next album.
Posting “Belift let them rest” while continuing to give Belift your money unfortunately won’t bother them. Advocating and speaking up online helps get attention overall and hopefully educate a few people but it’s not THE main thing that’ll bring us the results we want..
So, no. I won‘t look at visible exhaustion and romanticize it.
Working until you have to slap yourself awake isn’t something I want an artist I love to have to “push through.”
I admire their dedication and ofc I love their work but what i want most for them is: sleep, time off, recovery, proper long vacation, needed time with their families, health, happiness and freedom.
Because they’re human beings before they’re an idol bg, and I care way more about them as human beings than I care about my entertainment..
not letting yall forget that March 11th fancall. The way every single MEMBER looked that day, their eyes, their expressions, the exhaustion and sadness on their faces.
JAY literally told ENGENEs that we should be worried, SUNOO cried, NI-KI gave a thumbs-up at HEESEUNG’s name.
oh heeseung ☹️
👤: when did you first feel like you wanted to make solo music?
🦌: it’s going to be a really important question, so let me speak in korean. first, a lot of fans knew i was making music, and i too had been thinking that i wanted to share my music with the fans. through that music, i honestly thought that i could give them great happiness. so, in order to show them this music, i shared such thoughts with the company, and made this decision
👤: when you first had those feelings?
🦌: oh that’s tough, because while i want to share, this is honestly not just my story to tell. it could impact many members of the company and many people i love. I don’t think i can
all he wanted was to do solo music while still being in the group, but look what happened. It’s heartbreaking that he may have had to give up something so precious to him—his members—just to do the music he wanted to make for so long. Honestly, this is just heartbreaking :(
the way the camera started pulling away slowly cuz heeseung was talking about food and he had to finish the photoshoot KSJSKSJS
🦌 but i have to tell them 😭😭😭😭😭
Vampirenowlive posting this article about lenses and Heeseung posting these pictures wearing lenses on the same day is not a coincidence. It's lore. Also it talks about how lenses are used to hide identity, ie hee hiding his vamp identity, the last pic has 7 pics as a whole..🥹
heeseung really knows how to handle these kinds of questions i love him 😭
💬: a lot of fans on social media have noticed that you’ve changed quite a bit. what do you think is the biggest change in yourself?
🦌: the most noticeable difference lately is probably my eating habits. i used to really love super spicy food. i still like it now, but my taste has changed a little. i used to be really into malatang, but now i’ve been enjoying rose tteokbokki, hotpot, and foods with lots of strong spices. yesterday i stopped by a restaurant and surprisingly, everything on the menu suited my taste
