As the Canada Post labour negotiations halt and mediation talks are suspended, @DanTisch, President and CEO of the @OntarioCofC, issued a statement calling for an immediate resolution to the ongoing nationwide labour strike and highlighting the challenges facing businesses as a result.

“This is more than a labour dispute or a logistical challenge; it’s an economic risk to Canada. Instead of thriving during the holidays, businesses face delays, damaged reputations, and lost sales,” said Daniel.

The deadline to provide feedback is Friday, December 13.

The transportation improvements recommended as part of the TMP Amendment for the Picton Settlement Area include:

➡️Expanded cycling network and new multi-modal transportation hubs
➡️Enhanced pedestrian network and Millennium Trail roadway crossings
➡️Extension of George Wright Boulevard/County Road 22
➡️Implementation of a designated preferred truck route
➡️Various intersection improvements

Mayor Steve Ferguson has proclaimed Friday, March 8 as International Women’s Day in Prince Edward County.

On this day we celebrate gender equality and the lives of all women and girls while continuing to work toward a world where every woman can exercise their choice, such as participating in politics, getting an education, having an income, and living in societies free from violence and discrimination.

In his proclamation, Mayor Ferguson encourages everyone to take this day to recognize women’s achievements and to act against gender bias in support of the 2024 theme “Inspire Inclusion”.
