Winner drawn 22nd December, good luck! 🤞🏼🎯
7 or 8 years ago, today would have been such a day for me. All or nothing.
Today I'm watching it with such detachment and minimal emotion. It really is a fucking shame. But I feel so numb with modern football at the moment that I honestly wonder where I will be in 5 years time.
The morning after the night before ...
We're crap in Europe. We don't score enough goals and we never control or dictate a game. On paper you could argue that draws away at Porto and in Turkey aren't bad results but anybody with two functioning eyes who sat through those games and watched them will know that the performances are nowhere near good enough.
Late October and we're 21st in this Europa League with three points from nine, level on points with IF Elfsborg, Malmö and Ferencváros. Utter bobbins.
Rasmus dropped again last night? For that horse with an afro no less. To say I have my concerns over that fella would be the understatement of the decade.
Playing a defender as a number 10 is insane and bringing Antony on is hardly inspiring but the way people are treating Amad like he's a victim in all of this and speaking like he's the answer to all our prayers is excessive. He's shown very little so far and we as fans have a track record of pinning all of our hopes on that 'one player' who isnt getting minutes or is injured or needs another player to compliment him etc etc. The worry and frustration is much more widespread than the fact Amad Diallo isn't favoured by Ten Hag. That's a meer drop in the fucking ocean.
It's October and the season feels over for me and that's solely down to the mood. It's dross and the optimism is none existent.
And on top of that, I'm bored shitless watching us. I can count on one hand how many games I've missed in the last 10 years. I'll always watch us out of blind loyalty and obligation, but right now It's a fucking chore.
That'll do for now. On to Sunday, where more heartburn and boredom awaits. West Ham away is always a fixture I never look forward to and nothing is changing my outlook on that this season.
