@dave_mcpartlin I agree, the change is huge. But it isn't just the children, I think the last two or three years have seen a bigger change in parental attitudes. The expectation that schools will solve all problems, teach their child everything and the anger / attitude to staff is far worse.
My teenage son unwilling to read his novel on the holidays. I asked “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time” He called me a dork. A novel is huge, 10 pages is easy. I’m teaching him that small daily habits make things easier to achieve. And reading is #1. #reading#habits
Students need reps. One of the many similarities between learning and lifting is that you won't build ability if you just doing one or two reps per session.
Doing one problem the entire class is like going to the gym, doing a pushup, and calling it a workout.
Who’s for 5 days a week sports uniform for all students? Would you ask tradie to wear a business suit? We want kids to exercise more, but many are wearing inappropriate clothing. #5daysportsuniform#physed#schooluniform
What I teach in PE in 4 words. As we discuss grades, results, tests, tech, literacy and numeracy, keep space in your day for sport and PE. #happyandhealthy#physed
I teach the overarm throw a lot, but still need to more. It teaches kids how to use their whole body for added balance and force. This is then transferred to other sports and activities. #physed#peteacher
@Mr_PhysEd I am teaching science this year as well as PE. Really enjoying the classroom environment. Grateful for the opportunity to extend my skills and experience, as well as seeing all my students in a different light.
