PE gives them the tools and confidence they need to not fall over when running for a bus, to catch a thrown bunch of keys; to dodge a falling piano and to not split your pants climbing over a fence. Important life skills. A love of sport may be a by-product.
Right you lot! Let’s talk about what PE actually is! We know what it ISN’T, & we are all getting frustrated that it currently seems to be constantly misconstrued in the media. So what IS PE and what makes it so special, & DIFFERENT to simply being active? Go🚨! #PrimaryPEshare
This week we’ve been putting the spotlight on some of our former team members and looking at the inspiring work they’ve gone on to do. Having PE Partner as a stepping stone on your journey gives you a child centred, fun first approach. Check out https://t.co/oBbuZOJlJX
@Cambs_PE Over competitive kids who sulk and strop whenever a game or sport doesn’t go well is a massive issue in primary schools. Spoils it for all involved .Happy to be mean to other kids, zero resiliency and no self responsibility.
Cheating, entitled role models are the root cause.
@Cambs_PE There is a societal trend for s
tech based, seat based lifestyles. Creativity, fun, discovery is under threat. PE has to be fun competition. It just has to be. Both the sporty and the non sporty need to learn how to win and more importantly how to lose without a total meltdown.
A by-product of our work on #healthyholidayleeds is all the amazing opportunities we can give young people to inspire children. So far we’ve had 84 coaches delivering #HAF sessions for 1384 kids. Here’s some pics from our pre Christmas clubs CPD session. @LeedsMIC@Child_Leeds
Help them to not hate moving.
That’s it.
That’s the message for Friday folks.
Here’s a load of trainee teachers having fun in a PE session at @leedsbeckett recently
Have a great weekend!
