Speed Stacking to our Ss this week! We only do 3 cups per student for our K-2’s and we play games like builders and bulldozers (upstacking and downstacking) and relay races, as shown in the picture. Great #physed activity working on dexterity, coordination, and reaction time!

To compliment this lesson, we play a couple of team building games, as well as showing a couple of videos to the students that demonstrate the differences between good sportsmanship vs bad sportsmanship. Please comment if you’d like me to share the videos we use!
Every year, we spend a week discussing Sportsmanship with our K-2 students. This banner from @GopherSport is a focal point to our lesson as we discuss ways to show good sportsmanship, and how good sportsmanship builds confidence and character for everyone involved! #physed

The Cone Flip Mixer is a new instant activity Im doing this year with 1st/2nd and it’s already a HIT! Land a flip, run a victory lap. Lose and you raise your hand as you wait for a new opponent. Everyone wins and loses, and you meet new friends! Thank you @thepespecialist#physed
Thanks @PEwithCoachD for showing me this a few years ago for basketball! It’s now a staple of my beginning of year spatial awareness and movement with K-1!
One of my favorite days of the year is parachute day! Nothing beats the look of awe on a kindergartners face when you break out this giant colorful thing for the first time. Plus, @OPENPhysEd has a plethora of fantastic activities that are enjoyable and engaging. #physed
