Just finished the latest Co-Production Board for people with Learning Disabilities and Autism, which I Co-Chair with Wil, my colleague from People First Merseyside. A really positive meeting, the first in person for quite a long time, with other colleagues joining via Zoom.
In the most poignant moment of the evening, a user of @PFMerseyside shared why cutting services in communities matters.
“If I didn’t have the organisation and the advocacy I have now, I wouldn’t be alive.”
Charities not only enhance lives, they save lives.
Hi #Seftonhour The DAVID project members at People First Merseyside look forward to welcoming people with learning disabilities, their families and carers to our Death Cafe, 29th June, from 1.15.
This morning we’ve heard from @DavidRWilkin and @LeahFBurch and fantastic colleagues from @Leep1_Leeds & @PFMerseyside discussing the impacts of disability hate but also the positives that can come from the harm afterwards through collective resistance #DHCConf22
