Delighted to be spending the day at our ‘Culture in Action: Behaviour, Attendance & Personal Development’ conference with so many colleagues within and outside of GLT.
Looking forward to a day full of inspiration and insight, focused on how to embed ‘belonging’ into our schools.
@GreenshawTrust at its very best. Collaboration - sharing of best practice. Always learning. Great to see so many colleagues from a whole range of schools and trusts.
Some absolutely revolting people on this app, exploiting the worst vices of human nature for status and glory, or political impact. @MuftiPatel is one of the most capable and experienced people in the English system. His schools are fantastic. And none of this ghastly post is true. Report this.

My Animal Welfare Bill has passed both the Commons and the Lords! As a vet, knowing this Bill will have a bigger impact on animal welfare than I could possibly have achieved in a lifetime treating individual animals, demonstrates how important this legislation will prove to be.
The irony of this coming as government wonders why assistant head numbers have risen so much and suggests schools look at making savings in those teams ...

Hard agree.
These are all remarkable schools, and starting from scratch brings its own challenges - but turning round a Special Measures school, which more often than not will have been struggling for 10+ years, is a whole different ball game.
What do Michaela, Mercia, Mossbourne, King Solomon Academy and West London Free School have in common?
They all achieve excellent outcomes? Yup.
But also, they're all startup schools.
I think it's harder to turn a school around than to start one up, and we got in a long conversation (argument?) with Nick about whether or not startups can be a model for other schools, and how it somewhat frustrates me when we emphasise the startups, and don't look for models of best practice in turnarounds.
What do you think?
Tune in and share!
