5 Purple Sandpipers roosted below Tenby Lifeboat Station at high tide this afternoon. It is always a joy to see these waders that bring back memories of seeing them at New Brighton and Hilbre Island. π
White-rumped Sandpiper was still at Newport this morning despite being flushed twice by the same dog walker with her two dogs π Also a Knot, 4 Dunlin, 1 Ringed Plover, 35 Wigeon, 10 Teal and a adult Med Gull. WRS was still too far away for any decent pics π
A nice ride over in Carmarthenshire. Peregrine Pembrey Burrows and a Great Northern Diver at Burry Port, best of the birds seen. I failed to find any Snow Buntings at Cefn Sidan. Lovely cycle along Cefn Sidan beach π΅π΅
My first visit of the gulling season to Llys-y-Fran Reservoir with my birding buddy Brian produced 2 adult and 1 2cy Yellow-legged Gulls. Also, 6 Great Crested Grebes, 12 Wigeon, and a Tufted Duck.
There was no sign of the Caspian Gull this morning at Lower Town, Fishguard. A female-type Black Redstart on rooftops opposite the Ship Inn. Also, a nice adult argentatus Herring Gull at Lower Town.
