"If this place is constantly evolving, I think you're gonna have a hard time mapping it out. Especially if there's no consistency.
Putting one leg over the other, he crosses his arms.
"Eh, just a little tired. The greater my power usage, the more energy it takes."
"Well... Since I first started mapping out the complex on my first day, I just barely scratched the surface..."
He would be still asking some questions though once that was done.
"If that's ok, can you tell me how your feeling? Any fatigue, nausea etc?"
testing for mental rot.
Taking a look at the other picture, he takes a look at himself.
π Man, I look silly.
"Yeah, that's me. And hey, it's the dude I beat."
He takes the picture, analysing the creature. He's seen some obscene looking beings, but he's still intrigued. 1/2
"Hunt alone sometimes... and that thing wasn't killed... It can't be killed."
He would briefly pull out some paperwork he been doing on the life form.
"It is a literal colony of cells, or Bacteria. A mutated string of simple hay bacillus. I still don't know what to make of it."
I don't think it's quite understood how much Ryuji truly is a ride or die for people when the cards are truly down.
Mind you, Shiho wasn't even HIS friend- and he wasn't exactly on the best terms with Ann by the start of the game.
But he still went all in for both of them.
"Fine. I'll play along for now. But don't try anything. Switch-ups piss me off now."
Sitting up straight, he gives the surveyor his attention.
"Everything I told you before is pretty much all that happened. You were there for the rest. You got any other questions?"
"That decision is not up to me."
Purnell would ominously say before sticking to the program.
"If we can just talk like two normal people... you been in there and so have I. I just want to know... just even a little bit more about the place. Tell me everything you seen so far."
So he's not responsible for how things operate here. He's just an honest worker. Alright... And this place is unknown, even to them despite their efforts.
"I see. I guess *someone's* gotta find out what's going on here." 1/2
"That there is nothing, in our lifetime, perhaps in recorded history means more than this. But I don't understand it, I can't even describe it."
Its like describing to someone who's never seen a dog and asking them to draw it.
"We both want the same thing here, we really do."
Taking the flyer, he gives it a quick read. Seems like corporate talk, he quickly shows lack of interest in it.
"You make it really hard to trust you."
He slides back the flyer to him.
"Explain."
"Welp..."
He looks over at a window that is not transparent. Before sighing as he opens his binder.
"I make... I am sorry, our company makes MRI machines. Well we used to, not anymore."
He hands over a Async flyer while explaining what he does or rather Async does.
"Yep, no one else has that exaggerated swagger but me. You're more in control of this place than I thought. You do alot more than MRI machines."
He sighs, looking at the binder then back at Purnell.
"Did you lie to me?"
"Well there have been doors that are opening, and our motion detector had detected movements there."
Purnell would open his binder before taking out a picture of Ren who was caught on camera.
"Can you confirm this is you... entering though the null zone into the sector?"
He takes a look at the picture. That's definitely the place. He's no architect, but man, the design is horrible.
"Yep, that's it. Wait, how do you have a picture of it already? Were you expecting something to happen there?"
Joker's suspicions are raised, eyeing Purnell.
Completely ignores the question before he opens his binder.
"Can you confirm that this is location you fell in?"
He asked while he sets the briefcase on the table and opens it. He pulls out a few documents... and would sigh... He would answer his questions about Async soon.
"I'm not too sure myself. It's like I blinked and appeared here. In momentos, there's these portals that lead to another room to fight someone's cognition and I must have been mislead."
He suddenly notices Purnell's arm change.
"What happened to your arm?"
Purnell comes in with a binder now and would be having a black brief case for an arm instead of his compass arm.
"Well... hope you're comfortable."
He moves swiftly to take his seat before asking his questions.
"I just want to ask... how did you enter that place?"
Arriving at the room, he looks around. "Ah, memories." He takes a seat on the chair, one leg over the other patiently waiting to get it over with.
π They better keep it short.
+Questioning. Once inside, Purnell would gesture to keep going as they passed a room with the life form restrained down, unresponsive.
It is being examined and studied by a blonde researcher.
Once inside this room, Ren is left alone there for a few minutes.
"I don't wanna be here any more than you, dude. Whatever you got going on here doesn't interest me or my purpose."
If there's no one in trouble or no hearts to change, he has no reason to stay. Something like this is beyond him anyway. 1/2
"Tch, this is why A-sync keeps this place on a low profile... to keep the brats like you from treating it lik a playground..."
Purnell is reminded why he hates children again and kills them with his mother miss circle.
"Yeah yeah, you expect me to be like "My hero!" Ha! bozo."
"More problems than I already have in the sector I am currently trying to map out and study..."
He would park the golf cart in front of the outpost and got off.
"You will most likely be questioned how you got here, so I will try my best to have it be me doing the questioning."
"Clipped into here? The hell does that even mean?"
He slouches on his seat.
"I know it's not the metaverse, but it's similar. This feels different. Yet somehow, my persona still works."
"Chances are you probably... clipped into here... this ain't the metaverse... If I can't even understand it, what makes you think you can?"
He would sigh and listens for the KV31 Auditory guidepost sound. Which should get louder when he drives closer to the outpost.
"No problem. My third eye allows me to see in the dark, metaverse or not."
Huh, the metaverse had blackouts sometimes too. Too many similarities to be a coincidence.
"How do I get back? I was on a good run."
"You should be grateful I found you first before your still life did... You know the area we are in has black outs..."
Well, that's not creepy at all.
"This area goes pitch black when the lights go out... so yeah... you would have been our John Doe 2.0 had I not found you."
"This place is kinda creepy. You willingly work here? The pay must be life-changing."
He takes a look around, the interior always breaking expectations on how a room would look. Objects piercing through the wall.
"You said it remembers things, right? Does it have bad memory?"
"Or don't listen to me, its less paperwork for me when wanderer's let john doed. I don't care."
He starts the golf cart and would follow the tape mark on the floor while the lights flicker on and off briefly.
The constant buzzing hums from the lights could cause a headache.
