Great time yesterday with @MagnusCarlsen at Bar 64 #Barcelona after the Move Cup press conference. He was super friendly as we discussed the heavy focus on modern theory... and even played some #dragonchess! Look closely at f1: yes, that's the dragon right there! ♟️
35 years of friendship. One exhibition. A shared story 🇩🇰🤝🇱🇹
“Friends in Need: Denmark–Lithuania after 1990” has arrived at @LRSeimas, celebrating a bond built on mutual support and shared values.
From the National Library to Parliament, this story continues to inspire ✨
@turnabouttess@OnTheQueenside It really isn't. Why should gender be a criteria for selecting the game? The story is that a team was forced to get a male player, against their will due to gender equality rules, and we show his game.
18 countries have declined to participate in the U-15 World Cup after Russia was allowed to compete.
Thank you for support, friends!
Representatives of all 211 FIFA member associations, including Russia, were invited to the tournament in Azerbaijan.
The U-15 tournament will mark the first international FIFA event to include a Russian team since its suspension from all competitions at the start of the full-scale invasion.
The event is being widely ignored by European nations and major global federations: 18 UEFA representatives: Ukraine, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Finland, Iceland, Armenia, the Faroe Islands, Liechtenstein, and San Marino-as well as the US national team, have refused to participate. Meanwhile, some participating countries reported that while they will attend, they will refuse to play against Russia.

As the article is about a women's team, that is forced to bring in a male player due to gender balance rules, I do find it journalistically logical to cover that game.
As well, from a chess-perspective, it was the best game.
Another good example of how not to "get more women to play chess". 🤪
➡️ Cover only the game from the one man on the women's chess team
➡️ Not show any of the other games
➡️ Not mention the other players
➡️ Not mention the results of the team
