PHDCCI successfully organized the National Consultative Seminar on Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) on the theme “From Pilot to Scale: Demonstrating Carbon Capture in Action through Technology & Innovation” at PHD House, New Delhi.

The seminar brought together over 150 stakeholders from government, industry, academia, technology, and sustainability sectors to deliberate on scaling CCUS deployment in India.

Dr. Ranjeet Mehta, CEO & Secretary General, PHDCCI, emphasized the need for accelerated CCUS deployment to achieve India's Net Zero ambitions. Shri Aadhar Raj, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power, highlighted the proposed ₹20,000 crore incentive framework for CCUS and low-carbon technologies under Union Budget 2026–27.

The technical sessions were chaired by Shri Keshav Goela, COO, SS Gas Lab Asia, and Mr. Abhinav Kaushal, Founder & CEO, https://t.co/jVyszDtduA. Eminent speakers included Dr. Satish Mishra (Trident Group), Mr. Yashvardhan Verma (IIT Bombay), Mr. Manish Goswami (Fertilizer Association of India), Ms. Shreeya Shukla (Pi Green Innovations), Mr. M. K. Biswas (GAIL), Mr. Naveen Ahlawat (Jindal Steel Limited), Mr. Prasad Borge (Pi Green Innovations), Mr. Vineet Bakshi (LanzaTech & LanzaJet India), Mr. Vinayak Marathe (Phillip Townsend Associates Inc., USA), Mr. Abhishek Jha (Urjanovac), Mr. Tanuj Sharma (Invest India), and Dr. Amit Kumar Bansiwal (CSIR-NEERI).

The seminar concluded with a strong consensus on moving beyond pilot projects towards commercial-scale CCUS deployment through supportive policies, financing mechanisms, infrastructure development, and industry collaboration.

Interaction with Hon'ble Union Minister Shri Manohar Lal Khattar at Amritsar

CA Jaideep Singh, Convener, Amritsar Zone, Punjab State Chapter, PHDCCI, along with Mr. Sumit Kumar, Assistant Secretary, PHDCCI, participated in an interaction with Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Hon’ble Union Minister of Power, Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India, organized by the Punjab Pradesh Beopar Mandal on 13 June 2026 at Hotel Voco, Amritsar.

During the interaction, CA Jaideep Singh highlighted the long-pending need for a world-class Convention & Exhibition Centre in Amritsar, emphasizing the city's importance as a leading religious, tourism, and commercial destination that requires modern infrastructure to host large-scale exhibitions, conferences, trade fairs, and business conventions.

He also strongly advocated for the allocation of a permanent venue for the Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX), PHDCCI’s flagship annual event. He informed the Hon’ble Minister that PITEX has successfully completed 19 editions and has emerged as one of North India’s largest trade exhibitions, promoting trade, investment, MSMEs, startups, tourism, and international business collaborations.

Shri Manohar Lal Khattar appreciated PHDCCI’s proactive efforts in representing the concerns of the business community and acknowledged the vital role played by industry associations in nation-building. He emphasized that modern urban infrastructure, including convention and exhibition facilities, contributes significantly to economic development, investment promotion, tourism growth, and employment generation.

The Hon’ble Minister also appreciated PHDCCI’s consistent efforts in successfully organizing PITEX over the years and creating a platform that showcases Punjab’s industrial strength and entrepreneurial potential. He assured the delegation that the suggestions and issues raised during the interaction would receive due consideration.
